Hi all,

I've got a 95 Integra VTi-R (DC2) and have noticed a chattering sort of noise for a few weeks when turning the wheel say 1 3/4 turns (only at that spot, full lock nothing and any other place nothing). Anyway, worked out its the inner CV joints - stupidly I put the car in for service a few years ago and they commented "inner CV boots starting to crack very slightly" - got slack and never replaced them, now too late.

Priced them from honda just to see - $900 per driveshaft (!), and $650 just for one inboard CV joint (oh yeh, plus $160 for the boot). Honda can keep their parts thanks!!!!!!

Should I replace just the two inboard cv joints - or both joints, driveshafts etc? Don't plan to have the car more than 6 months.

I'm in Brisbane - would anyone recommend a good place to replace them?? Any idea on rough cost???

Thanks heaps!
Andrew

Thanks meatball, appreciate it.

Anyone know where I could buy the inboard & outboard joints and replace them myself? If so, approx how much would they be ?

you can get driveshafts ordered in pretty cheap at aussie auto

it would probably be cheaper getting a reco shaft with new outer and inner cv's. If you wanted to do it yourself its going to be a big pain in the a$$ trying to seperate the outer cv from the shaft.
