Hi All, I was wondering how often does this need replacing ? I have been searching and not able to find anything. I know the chain needs to be adjusted every 40,000 kms but not sure about the tensioner. I have read different things. Some people say 30 - 35k miles, some says 70k miles.

Thanks

Timing chain tensioner?????? It's self adjusting. Are you thinking tapet adjustment? If so every 40,000km under normal driving conditions, every 20,000km if your car see's lots of high rpm.

from what i have read it depends on how you drive your car....if you just plot along and rarely open it up, then it should be worthy anywhere up to 180.000km's although the life of the timing chain can vary if you spend time in vtec and push the car to limits and drive it 'HOW ITS SUPPOSED 2' (only on the track). i doubt this information is helpfull at all but thats just my 2 cents.
