hi i just put in a poineer 12" sub in the boot, and the amound of rattle is unbearable and makes it sound shot. so far i have tightened the rear number plate, and removed the factory stacker and it has helped slightly....

has any one else has this issue?? any other ideas what could be rattling?

foam under the numberplate always works a charm.

Im only guessing, but 2 things that are probably rattling are the tray the softop sits in when down and the rods that tension to push the boot up when unlatched.

I've got an alpine 10" sub and I have the exact same problem. I generally run i on it's loses volume because I can't bear to hear the rattle. I find alot of the rattle seems to come from the soft top but I'd have no clue how to stop that. Wish I could help but I've got the same problem :/

Run less bass, its not good for your ear dums and can cause perminant ear damage and loss of hearing in the future.

I used dynamat on my doors and to be honest I didnt think it was all it was cracked up to be... and yes before you ask, I cleaned my doors and applyed heat while putting it on and covered every inch. it made some what of a difference but nothing to write home about. I kind of regretted doing it since it adds a little extra weight to my car =/

yea rubber washers on the number plate helped, the 2 boot rod tensioner things already have foam around them at some points and seem to be constently tensioned so i dnt think there vibrating.

DC5TYPER whats Dynamat Sound Deadening?? and where can i get it?

You can get dynamat at most car audio stores. Also jb hi fi sell a cheaper product called stinger road kill for about $100. Apparently it does the same job. It's relatively easy to install yourself, just a bit time consuming.

i have 2 12 inch subs and have no rattle at all. thanks to dynamat, also to removing my parcel tray behind my convertible top to let more bass come through the boot

Bringing up the dead but i had the same problem.. I realised that the carpet was vibrating on the metal that i covered. The carpet that sits under where the boot latch hits.. If you get me.. I took my carpet out and just filled it up with foam. Make sure to fill every little bit, it will help alot. To see where else is rattling just pump the bass and then run your hand over all the carpet and whatever you have lying in there and see if it stops any of it..
