Hey guys, I've spied a '97 Lude for sale at around $19,500.

Now at the moment I drive a Nissan Micra, and have built it to be a bit of an N/A sleeper. For some reason I feel the shape of the newest of the Prelude's is the best looking car in the world.

Now what I wanted to ask, was how much does this car weigh? And what are the power figures stock?

Sorry about all the questions but also how does it take to mods, or is it already highly strung from factory such as the integra? I'd preferablly like a V-TEC model, so how much should I be looking at for a decent, low km V-TEC model?

Thanks guys, much appreciated

if you get a 97 make sure you get a manual, if you want an auto get a 98 on modle

If I were going to buy another one, I'd spend the extra on a nicer one - replacement parts are not cheap. I bought my 98 model for $23K 12 months ago, 100,000kms manual, almost perfect with complete service history, books, one owner.... I would not buy one with much less information that that.

They are 143kW, 1330kgs with climate control Air Con.

I bought my 97 si tiptronic with 32000km last august for $18500. One lady owner in brookvale, been garaged for last 3yrs, some minor scratches. One of those rare finds.

Make sure you get a vtir if u want performance.

The Si have a F22, which is fairly gutless in comparison.

I wouldnt exacally call them a sleeper, they look faster than they are alot of the time.

And nicest car in the world.... man have u seen a 3rd gen before :P

I thought 5th gens were 147kw at the engine...

Preludes won't make too much extra power with just bolt on mods, as they come quite refined from the factory, nowhere near an ITR of course but still quite refined.

I'd go the Vtir fo sho.

Nicest prelude in the world.....4th gen. Nicest car in the world NSX....rx7fd close 2nd

Id go a s2000 over the NSX for the more refined 50:50 weight distribution and FR handleing, it pritty much has perfect handleing charactoristics, like the FD RX7.

The Si's 5th gens are 117kw or something around that.

Series 1 are 143kw, thats 1997-1998, and the 99+ spec are 147kw. Which just comes through a larger exaust from factory.
