Hi All

I have seen this Euro luxury with low kms being sold by a Honda dealer - it has minor dents and scuff marks around the car. Also, the leather interior looks bit worn out with a couple of cracks and discoloured streaks on the front passenger and driver's seats.

I have negotiated the dealer down by a thousand bucks and he has assured me that he will get these fixed by a 'professional' mechanic and leather expert. I am considering giving him a deposit subject to me being happy with the fixes.

Would you imagine that the Honda dealer would do a good professional long lasting work or are these touch ups in interior and exterior going to fade out and show up again in 6-12 months time? I am looking at selling the car in 18 months - 2 years.

Thanks heaps!

hmm tough question, maybe shop around and see if u can find another for the same price but good interior, otherwise ask the dealer who they use for the paint n trim work n try get some peoples opinions that have dealt with that company before, and if the leathers that bad then walk away lol

Is the leather fully cracked into deeper layers or is it just creasing on the surface? Creasing is not too bad, you can prevent new creases and minimise the look of existing ones with regular leather conditioning. However, with cracks, no matter what you do you can't fix fully cracked leather without retrimming it. Putting a leather dye into the cracks to make it less noticeable is not an acceptable fix for me.

Thanks guys - I would say they are more minor cracks than creasing. Though these cracks are not very deep but starting to crack up on the skin of the leather. I do not want to re-trim it as it might be more useful to look for another. This car otherwise has low km, is fairly priced, comes with a honda warranty and a good service history. I have heard of a company called Leather Creations who take 550 bucks and do a very good re-colouring job. The rear seats are quite good - its mostly on the passenger and driver seat - I am told that the previous owner was very large and hence without TLC the leather wore out in 7 years. The leather is black in colour - not sure if this makes it any easier/worse.

Spoke to the dealer again this morning and now he says he has some other used Euros with the same colour where he can swap the seats and sell if I am interested. It sounds too good to be true? I am hoping I can buy new floor mats as well and make it look as good as I can!
