Hey guys,
Just signed up to the site tonight as I picked up my DC5 thisafternoon. I used to have a 94 Prelude VtiR back in the day, was a sweet car until it was written off in a hit and run incident.. Since then I've had 2 SSS Pulsars, a 180sx and a Holden Bommodore.. but now I'm cheering to be behind the wheel of my new Integra. It's a 2002 manual with only 47,000 km's! Totally stock. They're giving me four new tyres, touching up all scratches, new rego and a full service.. not bad for 15k the interior is literally like a new car
It seems everyone on this site gives base dc5's a hard time but I don't understand why.. The 2.0 118kw seems zippy enough and fairly comparable to vtir models from previous generation. I've had a 180rwkw turbo car before but I'm kinda over that. I just want a stylish nice car that's fun to drive. I'm looking forward to researching mods ect. I want to add some JDM styled skirts, type-s rims, new suspension and maybe a cai. The only thing that this car is instantly beggin for is a lower ride height..
I love having a nice clean slate to work with, I'll post pics up of my impending changes..
Cheers,
Mike
Ps. first question for the forum: What's the best lowered springs for stock suspension setup in these things? My car has only 48k on the clock so I think I can thrash the stock shocks for quite a while on lowered springs, but would like to know how these cars react to lowered springs. I put king superlows in my prelude and it was veeery bumpy. Do these things behave ok? Can I get away with 2 inches and still drive around without cringeing everytime I go over a bump??
