i was wondering if anyone in melbourne knows a place that does gearboxes in melbourne eastern surbs. also if anyones done one how long does it take and hows it feel?

when you do find a place, how about getting stronger synchronizer too?

should last better than brass. plus you dont have to pay mechanic's markup if you were to recondition and supply your own parts?

I think the type R boxes came factory with carbon syncros. Something like triple syncro on 1st and 2nd.. or double. But it wasnt brass.

I went to a guy who runs a place called Mitcham Automatics (clearly in Mitcham). He was highly recommended to me for my D-series GBox. He does manuals of course. Might be worth a shot. Decent price and does a good honest job.

Took one or two days because he was backlogged. Mine wasn't a reco though. Just a clutch.

Not sure how many Hondas he does. Maybe google him/yellow pages and give him a call? I think his name's Michael
