injector question..

hey
im reassembling one of the engines i got here today and was wondering what i could do to give the injectors a bit of a clean while they are out of the engine?
and how could i test them?

you guys reckon that bottle of injector cleaner you buy from any auto store is worth it or not?
i usually notice that the engine revs more 'free'er' but doesnt last... 1-2 days...

Ultrasonic cleaning method is the best at this moment.

a proper 'off car' clean and balance by a workshop = abt 30 bucks each 'jector...

'injector cleaner' is just expensive detergent :(

yeah injector cleaner doesn't really seem to work i've tired it many times before. Best bet is to do an ultra sonic cleaning or take it to a shop as they have the systems to clean them. Ultra sonic cleaning equipment aren't cheap though.

I have heard from someone that degreaser and an air gun can clean it also. Don't know how good this method is though, anyone else heard of it?

30 is a bit exxy :) a few shops quoted me 15 per injector.

agreed. Take to a mechanic and get them cleaned properly. About $30 a pop sounds about right.

Just get it done by a professional at least this way you can actually see if the injector is flowing correctly instead of assuming it is. I have made a device to clean and test them because I hate waiting for them to get done and I needed them done that day, but I check alot of them for all my cars so I think it is best you get it done as it is a once off thing.
