Longer cable = less clutch travel.

You shouldnt need a longer cable if everything is OEM.

Best to check the brackets or any other components that may have bent or distorted.

I have the same issue with a b16a into da3 swap. I will be pulling out some clutch cables over the weekend to determine which one is the longest, and what is compatible. so far, i can advise that a DA9 cable is longer than a DA3.

Why do you need a cable for a hydraulic operated box?
Unless youre talking about the throttle cable... Now im lost.

from what i understand, the hydraulic component of the "hydro gearbox" is internal. It still requires a cable based mechanism to link the pedal to the box?

so i believe he's referred to the clutch cable

hasport make a lever assembly that allows you to use a hydro box with the original cable

you're a little off. the hydro aspect of a gearbox is the hydraulic cylinder bolted to the front... there is nothing internal.

there is a master and a slave cylinder. the clutch pedal is connected to the master which when pressed moves the slave cylinder via hydaulic fluid (brake fluid)

So how does that relate to the picture above? I'll probably look to upgrade to a hydro box eventually, but I'd like to get it working with the cable box first. that being the case, i'll likely need the hasport kit.

also, another pictures to help determine what needs doing...

this is a hydraulic box utilising a hasport Clutch Conversion Lever Assembly. meaning the orignal clutch cable is still being used.

this is also a hydraulic box

this is a hasport master cylinder adapter

the adapter allows the use of a Honda clutch master cylinder to be used instead of a cable

If the above pic is your gearbox you already have a hydro box

Which still brings my question to the OP.
If hasport makes a mount that retains the OEM cable, why is a longer one required. It still doesnt add up.

And to qikteg. Hasport wouldve made that kit for a reason. Mix matching parts will lead to problems. Hasport has made it a bolt on application so people dont have the hassle of mix matching cables.

Yeah somethings gotta be up. How much additional length is required?

A picture tells a thousand words.......
