hey everyone
iv searched and found a few threads covering this but nothing really answered my question
iv recently found T1R big tube headers for a very affordable price so im considering them or some 4-1 mugen headers
my question is will big tube headers be too big for my b16aII which has an injen ek4 intake with blox velosity stak air intake, apexi vafc, type r IM and TB , 5zigen 60mm cat back and a stainless high flow metal cat ( 5zigen catbak and cat will be installed when i buy headers)
cheers

The write-up I have in a mag (I can't remember if it's Fast4's or whatever) said that the T1R Reponse header wasn't awesome, just decent. Mugen the top of the range, so if you can afford it it will be worlds better than T1R. You can hardly beat Mugen, TODA and Spoon for performance parts. 5Zigen is also very good.
60mm IMO is a little big for a B16A without a built head, and even if you run a 2" header it will be fine going into a 60mm cat/cat-back. As long as you're not going from big to small. Small to big is fine.
If you get the 4-1 Mugens, with those breathing mods and the big exhaust you'll certainly have some good high-end gains but maybe at the expense of some low-lower. I'm using 2" setup on my JDM B16A atm.
However since the B16A has average low-end power anyway, and is built to rev high, ultimately I think it's a good setup to consider and it will allow you to build your head in the future without changing your exhaust :)

thanks heaps so im better off with the mugen headers, thought so but i jst wanted to clarrify it, i currently got a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust and i feels its better than the 2" i used to have
another questioin is 2.5" cat ok? its only 0.133" bigger than 60mm

It's only 0.133" bigger, but that diameter is being squared when calculating the theoretical flow rate of the section.
Flow rate = Velocity * Area ((pie*diameter^2)/4)

The cat back is going to be your major downfall... (Sorry, bad choice, they're not good... at all)
Also, without an ECU & can swap, don't change to the ITR intake & throttle... You will lose 4hp accross the rev range
Vafc + std intake & throttle with std cams will out power a B16A with ITR Throttle & manifold & std cams incl VAFC tune.
The injen intake will help mask this... But you could go a lot better with better parts selection.

If you're going to use the Mugen 4-1, just buy the JDM 4-1
It works the same if not slightly better & is cheaper due to less / no bling.
If you're going to stump up for new Mugen's... To be frank you'd be a retard not to buy Toda.

I dont have a B-series but am interested why? is the exhaust too large, not free flowing?
