Gday guys,

Just a quick question in regards to setting up the plumbing for a boost controller. Obviously one side of the boost controller solenoid is connect to the waste gate / actuator and the second side is connect to a boost source on the charge pipe. The question is where is the ideal location for this boost source to be tapped from?

Closest to the throttle body (after the intercooler) or Closest to the turbo (before the intercooler)

Thanks in advance
Lyle

Somewhere about half way between IC and TB.

whats the theory behind that?

can you run it from the compressor housing ? most turbo's have a barbed fitting there . my eboost 2 is running from there to my 38mm ultra gate W/G .

Just before TB. So it measures/maintains boost before motor. Compressor housing or pre intercooler can taper off boost at high rpm due to pressure drop throughout system.

idd tee off the brake booster line.
that way your getting the direct reading of what pressure is in the manifold.
its a nice big vacuum source to

definatly closest to the TB... or off the TB itself...

Just a note... Eboost 2 specifically states not to use a boost source from inside you intake manifold

Yeh, also some WG's manufacturers say not to go to intake manifold because of vacuum off throttle. Only like to see boost, not vacuum.

Run the boost source for the solinoid from the compressor outlet,
Mount the solinoid on the drivers side chassis rail, the allen screw in the E-Boost kit fits perfectly.
Whether you're using an internal gate or external, putting it here it's out of the way, neat & tidy & the lines are short.
Run the boost source for the E-Boost unit itself from the intake manifold.
