Hi All,

I'm thinking of buy a new Honda Accord Euro - Luxury Navigation. I've had a test drive today and was pleastly impressed with the handling, power and ride comfort.

Just wondering if anyone has had any negative experiences with this model.

Just doing some homework before puting pen to paper.

Do you recommend any additional extras I should look at getting installed?

Thanks,

Con

I really think the Navi model is not worth the extra money, however if you have xtra cash to spalsh around thats different.

I think the Navi has the the reversing camera and the incabin GPS. I drive the Lux and mate to be honest its heaps good
i saved stacks of cash by not going to Navi, bough myself a garmin Nuvi Gps, although the reversing camera would be very useful
but not absolutelet essential.
Its a helluva car as all the guys will agree on this forum, legend economy, bloody sexy looks.
Anyhow best of luck with your choice, if you get the Lux model you will have cash left over so take the wife to the sunshine coast:cool:
for a winter holiday.

PROS:

I own a luxury model myself and i have to say ITS A GREAT CAR...

- Automatic adjustment of your left mirror when reversing! Thats awesome considering I change my rims and would not want my rims to hit the kerb when parking.
- Heated seats will keep our bum warm during WINTER time!
- Automatic rain wipers and headlights
- LOTS of sensors which is so helpful, but make myself dumber to park cars without sensors.
- headlight washer to wash off water droplets condensing on the headlights, especially in the mornings.
- Heated side mirrors

CONs:

- poor quality speakers: having to return to HONDA for the 2nd time now to change it under warranty
- "Pinging" issue- not sure with the MY10 though

In regards whether to purchase the NAVI lux model, I would suggest that if you like everything to be integrated as one and you find a need for navigation system, go for it. BUT i think the resale value of the car would be the same as luxury model (correct me if im wrong people). The reverse camera is superb! But for me the sensors are enough to keep me off others bumpers.

If you would like your car to look a little different, you might want to consider getting the MODULO set which will make your car looks even hotter, sexier! or the sports grille! I regret not getting them. Other than that, the car already has all the features a luxury car needs! oh yea might also get the Bluetooth handset thing? might be useful but some say it cost too much!

Hope thats useful.
Good luck with the buy!

Thanks guys; greatly appreciate the info! Still tossing up on whether to go the Nav or not; was thinking of going the Manual... anyone driving manual?

+1 not worth it for the navi. It's nice to have the screen integrated into the dash, but the option is just too expensive.

I have a CL9 manual, and it's bliss. I'd expect the CU2 is the same. However it depends on whether or not you drive in peak hour start-stop traffic every day. You might get pretty sick of a manual. If you can put up with the manual, it's a good way to save a bit extra when you buy the car, but might make selling the car down the track a bit harder. Most people in the market for a sedan like this spec the auto.

Am I the only one who hates headlight washers? Useless for cleaning the headlights, all they do is spray water over the front of the bonnet and bumper and make a mess. I sometimes turn OFF my headlights if I want to wash the windscreen at night to stop the headlight washers activating, or avoid using the washers at night altogether!

Cool; thanks for the info HZ. Thinking more about driver feel atm; everyones told me the Accord Euro is a drivers car, and wouldn't mind getting back to old-school manual. :D

I can't see the point of spending the extra for the Navi when you can get a Garmin Nuvi with a 5" screen for $350 which is far cheaper to update maps when they become available or throw away as the technology improves. Just stick with the luxury if you want leather & sunroof.

I drive a CL9 Euro Lux Manual Every day... in fact in 2 years i've done almost 85k on it. I love every bit of it and the sat nav was just a bonus. IMO its not worth the money they charged but if you have it then yeah why not. I never use it unless i'm stuck in traffic and want to see if there's an alternative route. Other than that it pretty much stays off. On the CU2 the SatNav Model doesnt come in Manual. Which sucks. I get bored of my CL9 sometimes cos i always want more... But to be honest most the cars on the road atm i'm not a huge fan of.... That also includes the CU2 (and yes i've test driven it too) \

At the end of the day we here can give you all the opinions in the world but in the end its up to you what you like in the options... Manual, auto, sat nav or not... ect.

Oh and only reason i got the sat nav on mine cos it was the last car they had in stock... and i wanted it then and there... so they dropped the price :D and about 2 weeks later the CU2 was announced (which i had knew about and didnt want to get cos i always get the last in the model range so all the bugs and mistakes are all out of the system) :D

If you want luxuary navi it comes only in auto, not manual transmission anymore. If you can spend a bit extra and bargain really well go with Luxuary navigation. You may not use the GPS navigation, it also comes with reverse camera which is worth...

If you get the navi make sure you get the latest maps with the car. Before making your decision, walk over to the spares desk and ask how much the latest updates are :)
