A few weeks ago i was fortunate enough to be invited to ride in a friends yellow Integra Type R GT racecar for some hot laps around Perth's Wanneroo Barbargallo Raceway. The car is powered by a B20 and is fully converted to a track car.
This car won last years class of the championship and so i was naturally excited. Average laps were in the high 60's - not bad considering actual race pace was mid to low 60 secs.
The team: Beds Plus Racing, - driven by Sean Ferrall, of whom i warmy thank for this rare experience!

Pictures first and the video clips are at the bottom. - Recorded from within the car at full race pace :D

Yeah, it's the 94-96 DC2. So it would have been a VTi-R or lower spec model and converted over.

The car was imported from Macau and it is a dC2 R.
The front bar is about the 50th front bar to be on the car so dont judge it by a little cosmetic thing. The hole chassis has been put thru the wars over the years - as well as the bodywork. Plus i sure cosmetics arent the vehicles main objectives :)

Th wheels are Compomotive Rims.

doubt it .. :)

Looks like it good do with alot of stripping. Is it a requirement of that class to still be in street trim or something? For one, the dash could go, one wiper, headlights from what i can see.

Not much but it is a racecar.

Not much but it is a racecar.I don''t know about the WA classes, reqs, but for IPRA, it needs door trims and dashbaord, must retain wipers (all standard wipers) amognst many other things....

I would say if it were a VTiR conversion

FYI the stud pattern is a 4x 114.3 and it is a 98ITR - the very last produded ITR before they went ot 5 lug.

guys i know what your sayin calm down please. I asked the owner/ driver if its a 97 and he told me its a 98 (yes much to my surprise). Its not an Australian chassis either so i will have to take his word for it. He knows the full history of the car and it was purchesed in Asia. At the end of the day who cars what year it is. Its irrelevant.

Its all cool ! :D

What rpm does it rev to?About 9300 i think. He has his shift light set to that i believe but remember its a B20VTEC.

yeah but still why would any1 change it to the aus spec lighst instead of the JDM 1's?

there are more JDM fronts if u search around

Civic Type R
14-01-2005, 12:54 PM
because they have smashed the front end in too many times whilst racing.
Also, yes i said the car was purchased in Asia but i have not once said its a JDM car. You guys are making too many assumptions

Why are you guys focusing so much on the car's cosmetics ?

Civic Type R

it gets rebuilt every year and is run by Autronic. The person building it also built my motor too but as for spilling the beans, im sorry i cant do that. I trust everyone can understand for permission and other respect reasons.

If thats the case, how come you say that your engine is JDM too?The car is from Japan then exported to the UK, raced there then back in Sepang for the JGTC support races and so too was the engine. I didnt feel it necessary to say it was JDM. BTW, my engine has been in and out of quite a few cars over the years.;) However clearly we are distracting ourselves here..
