I decided to paint my steelies today because they were fugly as hell and i couldnt stand to see them like this any longer. I was taught this way and i want to show how easy it is to get a not bad paintjob on the wheels. Its fairly straight forward and i think anyone could do this!

What supplies required
- One spray can of engine enamel (to be honest this is what i got, i was thinking the rims would heat up after driving long periods to hot temps so i decided to be safe and grab this can. i chose black but of course any colour is up to you) $9

- One Can of wheel cleaner/degreaser or Glass Cleaner spray can(not the little squirt bottle, ones that come in aeresol cans) $3

-One deck of playing cards $2

maybe a few extra dollars for a self serve car wash

The Procedure
1. Take your car to a self serve car wash, put about 2-3mins worth of washing time to really degrease those rims.

2. dismount the wheel you are going to paint.

3. Now spray the degreaser/wheel cleaner onto the rim. I chose glass cleaner as my rims were already clean from countless times of degreasing everytime i washed my car. Glass cleaner/Degreaser are pretty much the same chemical glass cleaner is a lighter strength version but are realy the same thing.

4. Now wipe it clean with a dry cloth.

5. heres the ghetto part, grab the deck of cards and place it all around the rim like in the picture below, when it is all done, AIM and spray onto the rim :D

6. Let it dry and then whack it on

7. ENJOY :D

No +rep is required guys this is really easy i think anyone could do this if they were just told to do it rather than reading a DIY on it

Happy painting guys :D

i have rims haha i just dont have any tread on them thats y im on steelies.
these steelies are as old as the car itself were just lying around.
when my money starts flowing again ill whack them rims back on
heres a pic of what my rims are, not the flashiest but i dont think id prefer this car in any other oem-style ones

Hey mate,

Just thought id let you know I did the same thing and got a pretty good result, they look 10 x better then the ugly rusty crap they were. I will replace them eventually but for now they are cool.

Thanks for the ghetto post :P
