The JDM Type R has the better engine and transmission, a lot more aftermarket parts available and looks much better IMO!

Im with WATAJK on this one.

Are you people crazy? 55k for a civic.
Wouldnt you prefer a s2000 that would totally blow this out of the water and it's 20k cheaper

there are so many more better cars you can buy for 55k + the owner sounds like a w@nker in carsales.

Buying and modding an Accord Euro with $55k won't give you an Euro that is as fast as the FD2R. However, $55k is expensive for a 2007.

In stock form the S2000 wouldn't be able to blow the FD2R out of the water either.
Around the track it actually holds up well with Evo's, WRX's etc.
Performance wise I'd say 55k is justified given the rarity of it.

The price also has alot to do with availability - don't you guys think about that?

$55k isn't a bad price considering there are TWO in the entire country, how many accords do you see on the road these days?

ekay1
01-08-2010, 04:05 PM
FD2R>Euro imo...... not the price though xD

WATAJK
01-08-2010, 04:41 PM
Correction... There's more than 2 in the country.
There's 4....

Yes = Rare Car
Worth that much? Honestly, No.
Quick car around the track from what i've seen on youtube etc..

S2000 + FD2R = 1/4 = S2K
S200 + FD2R = Track = FD2R

Depends which your after, if you want the 4 door daily driving with the track ability then i'd obtain this car but not at that price..
Hate on my comments if you wish as i don't really care.. Rare car, amazing car but not worth it in all honesty....
Thats all from me... If it was $40,000 i'd CONSIDER buying it personally as i've got the money ready but i don't see justification in paying $55,000

or the mugen rr?
Can get one of them landed here in Australia, $80,000...
Street registered and complied.
That's the reason why im saving + haven't SPENT huge on my ITR

Around the track the FD2R would be faster than an NSX....

you all say its not worth it cause u cant afford it. if u had the money ud buy it. stfu

its all the same low ballers "uhh i wanna buy ur part, but its not worth 1k, *but really its cause u only got 500bucks*)

and with the s2k vs fd2r, its up to personal preferance, id go fd2r (if i had 55k) rather then s2k with 30k in mods, as i just dont like the 2 seater fact, and its just like buying a RARE part, eg. bys front eg lip, everyone wants it, but noone can be ****ed/afford to import/buy it, so everyone just get replica lips. tch tch

S2000 + FD2R = 1/4 = S2K
S200 + FD2R = Track = FD2R

how do you even know this? proof? rather then just youtube vids, how can u say this vs this will win, remember driver is a major factor when going down the 1/4, i haven't seen a vid of the one driver taken the s2k and fd2r down the 1/4 to see what times he gets for validity.... so.......

Your right FDBenni - stock for stock on track, the S2K doesnt blow the FD2R out of the water - if anything the FD2R slightly quicker.

The car is worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay.
Since theres only 2 in the country guess he can ask for as much as he wants....

I'll jst buy evo or gtr for that price range OR a BMW 135i =D

_bORdO_
01-08-2010, 05:49 PM
Or a BMW Z4
or a LEXUS IS250
or a Nissan skyline R34 GT-R

Or maybe a cheaper but still new car and slap 20k worth of mods on it.

The car is worth whatever the buyer is willing to pay.

^ i do agree with this.

haven't seen it happen on 1/4 mile but i doubt it will ever happen anyway... FD2R is and will always majorly be a track car compared to a 1/4 car as we all know.
But i'd still say S2000 > FD2R 1/4
FD2R > S2000 Track

Put someone who can drive both cars in the hot seat and then we will see BUT as i said will never happen.
I've seen an S2K at the 1/4 mile quite a few times to be honest LOL.... Seen them at winton/wakefield as well...

Needless to say i won't comment anymore because SOME people just can't accept certain comments.
Agreed to what others have said, if you have the money buy it.

I have the $$ and i could buy it but i rather either buy my house or purchase a MugenRR and have it complied.

Rarity aside and playing the devil's advocate here, on what objective performance measure would this be preferable over something like, say, a Mitsubishi Evo?

I guess the crux of what I'm getting at is that fan boi-ism aside, why would a performance car buyer choose this Civic over other alternatives in the market?

These cars will soon turn into EP3R's. The Ep3 was pretty rare but since more and more are being imported they are becoming more popular. They have the same motor as the EP3R so I'm guessing performance would be similar.

Import of the EP3R is allowed by SEVS, while the FD2R is not allowed. So the FD2R won't be as common as the EP3R.

55k for a civic?? geez, theres so many other great cars to get that are still quicker than that and on the track, lol I can even get a brand new WRX sti for that same price, kinda makes u think, why on earth would anyone pay that much for a civic

If ur a hardcore honda fan boy, sure why not, but i think most will agree on this, and say, pass.....

And Fd2r will never be import approval, due to the very closeness to the average civic, there has to be quite a fair bit difference for it to be classes as different vehicle all together for it to be import approval, its to protect the sale of the adm vehicles over the grey import scene
