Hey people
I've had my Euro Lux for 2 months now and have done approximately 8500km.
To you other euro owners, can you chime in about the following or am i the only one that experiences the following: (i know a few of these things have been covered in other threads).
1) spongy brakes (sometimes when i brake to a gentle stop i get a loud shudder and slow stop, no not as violent as ABS kicking in but similar to when u just wash the car and brake for the first time).
2) If my brakes arent spongy, they squeal to a stop.
3) Slight drivers seat movement while braking.
4) discolouration of wiper arm.
5) drivers side washer jet difficult to adjust perfectly.
6) There was a creaking from the boot, but now gone (metalic sound).
7) I never fill up at the same petrol station, never constantly use the same type of petrol i.e i switch from optimax -> synergy 8000 -> ultimate -- vortex 98.
It seems that my car adversly reacts to whichever petrol is in it at the time.
I get the worst performance and general feel using BP ultimate.
8) For the past two weeks, i have notice vibration in both the accelerator and the brake pedal.
Particularly when cruising without acceleration, or going uphills.
Could this have been caused by a overspirited drive just before i started to notice the vibration ? at the same time i remember i bottomed out on a large speed hump.
9) At night when i brake, i can hear a rocking kinda noise from the back, but only when the environment is quiet.
Thanks mates *Gets flame suit ready*
Hopefully i can get these little things addressed in the upcoming 10k service.
I miss Lexus service :o

I notice none of those things with my Euro except:
1. Brakes - could be more powerful, a bit mushy sometimes.
2. Slight jerkiness when on and off accelerator.

Don't know about it
2) If my brakes arent spongy, they squeal to a stop.
Never squealed once yet.
3) Slight drivers seat movement while braking.
4) discolouration of wiper arm.
Nothing yet. I park my car under direct brisbane sun during the day too.
5) drivers side washer jet difficult to adjust perfectly.
It's pretty much useless if you use it while you're stading still.
I only use it while the car's travelling.
6) There was a creaking from the boot, but now gone (metalic sound).
Haven't heard any noise from the boot yet.
7) I never fill up at the same petrol station, never constantly use the same type of petrol i.e i switch from optimax -> synergy 8000 -> ultimate -- vortex 98.

Only ever used BP Ultimate in my car, so I can't comment.
8) For the past two weeks, i have notice vibration in both the accelerator and the brake pedal.

Could this have been caused by a overspirited drive just before i started to notice the vibration ? at the same time i remember i bottomed out on a large speed hump.
The only vibration I can feel is when I turn on the air conditioning.
I feel the vibration for about 3 seconds.
9) At night when i brake, i can hear a rocking kinda noise from the back, but only when the environment is quiet.
Don't know abou this either.
For your information, my car's about 3 months old and I did about 5,000km. (Gotta keep that milage low. hehe)
I have a few issues with my car though.
I can hear some squeaky noise from the back somewhere when i go over speed bumps or some rough road.
Sometimes there's some buzzing from the driver's door panel.
Also, some rattle from the roof but only when i have the sliding thingy open with sunroof closed.
Also, the brake is sometimes very weak. Especially if i put it into neutral even at 20-30km/h. I have to apply a good pressure on the pedal to make the car come to a stop.
Anyway, overall I don't have any major problem with the car and i take a very good care of it hehe. Except the couple of times when i had a brain fade and released the clutch while the car's in 1st gear. that tear my heart out.

I have none of what you describe happening to my Euro, it's not a luxury though. Had it over 12 months.
Compared to my mates 2000 Commodore my brakes are fantastic, certainly not sspongy, ever.

1) spongy brakes (sometimes when i brake to a gentle stop i get a loud shudder and slow stop, no not as violent as ABS kicking in but similar to when u just wash the car and brake for the first time). This sounds like ABS detecting a loss of traction - are you going over a bump whilst braking to a stop? The ABS on the Euro is quite sensitive to bumps and uneven road surfaces - I experience the shudder on one corner near my house - braking for the corner there is a slight bump - ABS always triggers for a fraction of a second. It is not violent - just a slight shudder so it sounds exactly what you are referring to.
Re spongy brakes - they do need a good prod the Euro brakes but work ok for what they are and stop quite well in an emergency
2) If my brakes arent spongy, they squeal to a stop.
Get this checked at your next service - stone caught in the brake pad?
3) Slight drivers seat movement while braking.
ditto above
4) discolouration of wiper arm.
News to me
5) drivers side washer jet difficult to adjust perfectly.
Don't adjust the jet - they are supposed to be aimed low.
Car is more impacted by the amount of fuel left (ie the weight of the fuel) rather than type of fuel used. The performance of my Euro is miles better when it has a quarter left.
Air con on or off?
9) At night when i brake, i can hear a rocking kinda noise from the back, but only when the environment is quiet.
Check stuff in the boot ie tools and space saver tyre are tight. Check you haven't left the rear seats unlocked (i have done this a few times). Check stuff in the sunglasses holder (things in there rattle and sound like they are behind you).

Thanks for the input guys.
As with all minor car problems, the things i experience are intermittent !.
yfin: air con on or off My aircon is off 95% of the time. the vibration is not the initial jutter as the compressors begin to operate.
I hope i can replicate a couple of the previously mentioned things with a honda teckie beside me. Do they do that ?
Another little thing i forgot to mention is that:
After i go for drives in scenic areas i.e leaves , twigs etc ...
when i up/down the window i hear a commotion of noise (enough to make my teeth clench) I imagine its road debris like leaves and etc inbetween the inner glass and non felted area. But dont fear, my stock normal "heat absorbing" tint is untouched.
Mano.
