Hey guys, what are some DIY maintainence steps in order to take care of the car. Im curious about the stuff in the engine bay eg. engine oil and cleaning the filters etc. Cheers!

just basic service stuff... check ur fluids, change ur spark plugs, oil filter, new oil - obviously not if ur under warranty

+1 to .k.'s post.

Don't DIY if ur under warranty. I take my car to a service place that can do it for $100 with a logbook stamp :D

Should i go back to the dealer or just go to a mechanic?

No harm in servicing the car between service intervals of 10,000, if your very worried..

10,000km service for fd1 only involves oil change + list of inspections
20k service = oil + oil filter
30k = oil
40k = oil + oil filter+ air filter

all these have recommendations in between like wheel alignments/brake fluid flush / carbon flush, in car pollen filter..

^i still wouldn't recommend losing your warranty to save a few bucks like that.

ekay1, go to any mechanic who can provide you with a recognised service stamp.

You should go back Honda to have your car service if your car still under warranty. Going to a workshop that provides servicing stamp does not mean that Honda will not void your warranty.
