Hey guys i did a search but as i'm at work i cant dig too deep, i urgently need some information. My rear brakes are trashed, they need new rotors, pads and rebuild kits. I've sorted the rebuild kits out however as for pads and rotors i dont know which ones to go for, so my question is this: Which pads n rotors would you guys recommend? The car doesnt get tracked or anything like that, it gets mountain runs occasionally and a bit of spirited driving but thats about it. Any information would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Just get some OEM rotors off somebody here, and have them machined. Front's do most of the work anyway bro. You can slot/drill them before they go on if you want but I don't think that's worth it. That's my opinion.

I've read drilling rotors that were never intended to be drilled creates weak spots and can lead to cracking...

I've heard similar claims and from what I understand that depends on the quality of the workmanship. If they're not slotted and drilled in the appropriate areas or with the appropriate spacing then yes, but if it's done and spaced properly it's fine.

You're most welcome. Rear rotors though to be honest I wouldn't bother having them slotted/drilled. Fronts yes, but only if you do occasional entertaining drives through winding roads etc.

Then get OEM rotors and don't even bother having them machined lol. Just stick them on - as long as they're functional!

There is no benefit in drilling or slotting the Oem rotors. It would be more prone to cracking as well. Proper slotted or drilled rotors should be heat treated and cooled slowly. The only reason why I would personally go for a slotted type rotor is so that they can accept a high coefficient of friction brake pad without having excessive rotor wear because of a higher carbon content. Slots or drills aren't exactly necessary.
