So im looking at an oil change very soon. Id like to get my oil filer sorted out cause i have had a few problems in the past with it. The oil filter i have on it at the moment, is a Z547 (im only referring to ryco part no.s, im not using a ryco filter though). Although on ryco's site, it says to use a Z79A. I remember my first oil change, i bought the Z79A, only to find out it wasnt the right size. However, i did not test fit it (i dont think).

Looking on ryco's website between the size differences of the Z79A & Z547, they both have the same seal diameter of 63.00mm. Although, the Z79A has a seam diameter of 82.00mm whereas the Z547 has a seam diameter of 68.00mm. Can i still use the Z79A size oil filter on my Y4?

I only ask this as im looking at either a K&N oil filter or the purolator pureONE oil filter. All D16 series engines look to use the same oil filter, but ive always gotta ask especially with the 'black sheep' Y4 motor....

same with Y8, lol, better of getting a honda oem filter, that way you will know it will fit all the time, and have the correct sealing gasket size, i used a ryco last time, it was definate smaller than oem, that got me worried, used it the last oil change, never went back, lol
