asking for a friend if a drive shaft seal = rear main seal? thanks

no they are totally different seals, the drive shaft seal sits inside the gearbox on both the drive shaft holes. The rear mean is the seal that sits on the gearbox end of the engine. it sits on the end of the crankshaft where your flywheel bolts up.

hope your friend is in need of a driveshaft seal as the other is a prick to change :)

One is where the drive shaft enters the gearbox and the other sits between the gearbox and engine! Big difference! Good luck :)

If the main seal
is leaking , it will leak ENGINE OIL ( black)

If a driveshaft seal
is leaking , it will leak GEARBOX OIL ( generally gold or brown in colour)
