I was watching the 5pm news on channel 10 tonight when they published a story of a Honda S2000 smashed and wrapped around a pole. I am not speculating and am concerned for the well being of the family as they mentioned the sole occupant of the car died at the scene. He was driving a berlina black AP1 with gold wheels and red interior which was shown on the news. I am not saying for certain that it is him but I am thinking it is Brian who came along on the cruise to Marysville earlier in July.

The Age reports the following:

Police are investigating the cause of a crash at Heathmont, in Melbourne's east, about 7pm.

A Honda, thought to have been driven by a man in his 20s, left Canterbury Road and struck a pole, police said.

The man, the sole occupant of the car, died at the scene.

Major collisions police will prepare a report for the coroner.
The deaths take Victoria's annual road toll to 204, 18 more than at the same time last year.

If it is Brian I send my deepest condolences and sympathy to his family and girlfriend Judy. We shared words on the day and felt soo comfortable around them although we parted because we lost eachother in the large group.

You will be dearly missed and never forgotten by all of us.

im not saying you should not pay respect to the passed

from my point of view it seems a bit of disrespectful saying the person is dead, when if hes not... i knw i did b pissed off if i found out some random is jinxing me when ever a car i drive crashes....

Well I sure hope I am wrong although I think you r not seeing the point of the fact that someone died. Regardless what u think of me speculating on who it was I still think it is respectable to pay respects whoever it was. Also, I don't believe in superstitious "jinxing"

Your friend Brian , must have been do at least 90kms when he flew past me just before the bend in canterburry rd just before the lights. On approx the apex of the bend he tried to swing into the left hand lane to go around the banked up cars at the lights, lost the rear , slid sideways , hit the kerb and straight into the concrete pole ,,,, drivers door took the full impact ....... not the same or even close to the impact on his family and friends this will have .... I didnt know Brian i just saw him make a split second decission in the last couple of seconds of his life ..... sorry to every one involved

How would some of you guys like to hold a memorial cruise for him? i am happy to organise time and place although i know that the OzHonda community and myself are still upset about the most previous meet where a cyclist was knocked off his bike due to some hoons that attended. So please let me know all your thoughts

Sorry to hear your familys loss, but from what you have said above and no dissrecpect but you said the following:

"I didnt know Brian"

then you said

"i am his cousin"

If you're his cousin how come you didnt know him? or did I missunderstand something...

I didnt know brian personally, but I still think its a sad day to lose a fellow s2k driver. We're a relatively small community and news like this is a shock to us all. I think we've all had at least one scary moment in the wet where our car has slid out more than expected so it could have been any of us. If all of brians friends dont mind my attendance I'll be down for the cruise

My deepest condolences to Brian's family and friends.

Alvin_R, like you I've just met Brian recently too and now he's gone forever. I met Brian last Wednesday night and partnered him in a badminton game. Was looking forward to partnering him again last night until I found out the tragic news and it was very sad indeed! I've read every single post on this tributary thread and I regret that I didn't attend his funeral service this morning. I think the idea of a memorial cruise is a great one however I would ask the organiser to respect the wishes of his family should they feel it's inappropriate.

Even though it was such a short time that I've known you for, i will remember you as being friendly, energetic and moved like lighting on the badminton court.

RIP Brian as you'll be remembered by your family and friends. Time spent will be cherished by them forever!

If Brian had a S2000 with VSA (06 onwards) would it have possibly stopped or reduced the sidewards slide into the pole? Also, I too would like to pass on my condolences to Brian’s family.

To know it's someone so close to the Honda community it hits even harder..
This is not a way anyone should die but it happens sadly :(
Brian may you rest in peace.

You know when i think hard about this as this has actually hit me hard.. i wonder how many times im lucky to be alive by stupid decisions...
I think this has actually woken me up and i think it's time to settle the hell now.

If there is a cruise in honour of his memory you can definately count me in.
I may not of known him but a member of this community is a brother & sister to us all.
We will make it one to remember for him & his family.
