Got my car back and took it down the gold coast for some run in sessions last night. Car was goin pretty well but not as good as i wanted it to.
The tuner only gave me 8psi and a 6krpm limit to play with. Still it was enough to beat most cars.
DYNO CHART click here. (http://www.ozhonda.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=1078&sort=1&cat=500&page=1)
I know the power is very low but the turbo is no where near its effieciency range. With the f22 g/box the ratios are a little bit low for last night so with the revs after shifting at 6krpm it was trying to make boost again. Still fun beating skylines wrxs, silvias ect. that laughed at me when i lined up with them.
Stay tuned and u'll see how much power it'll make on full boost this week after i get it tuned again.

i forget is this a boosted h22a or f22b?

Thats some nice power still for only 8psi. I cant wait to see some vids and pics when u get her full tuned and raise the boost.

cheers guys. i wanted to get it done tomorrow (monday) but don't know if they're gonna be open or not.
The turbo is a little bit laggy for the street. Just realised that while i was driving home from the airport and it didn't come on boost once. That and the screama pipe is abit loud when it comes on boost!

hahahaha yeah the cooler is fake!
nah just got the car back and dont have the bumper atm.
Zip tied everything that was loose so that it wont come off driving down the freeway.
I've got a full custom kit already but it'll sit too low and attract too much un-needed attention from the fuzz so i'll leave it stock for a while.
Should see the reactions i get when i drive past!

CHU85
05-01-2005, 11:25 AM
yeah i'll colour code the sides. its just that its always had the skirts on so i never needed to do it.
When is the next cruise? I'll be down bwcp on sat night.

A'PEXi

so..... is it a h22a block with f22b gearbox?

CHU85
06-01-2005, 11:05 AM
yeps. Better suited to daily driving not 1/4mile drags.
abit of a dissapointment but at least i can save $$$ on petrol!

joyride
06-01-2005, 11:24 AM
did it require any mods or was it straight swap?

edit: i.e the block and gearbox

CHU85
06-01-2005, 02:28 PM
nope straight swap cos my engine is from a sir accord.
but u can use ur standard gearbox with a h22a if thats what ur asking.

what kit did you have on it

CHU85
06-01-2005, 06:19 PM
custom hiro lip with hsv sides
but now thinking about goin either buddyclub or r34 or maybe even standard if only i can get the std front to fit.

Speak to Poid, he seems to have a pretty large intercooler behind his bumper. I think he cut a fair bit off though....

I love the colour and height of the car. I cant imagine what it'd be like to drive if you say its laggy, the accord has little or no torque below 2000rpm anyway..

Cant wait to see the finished product! But i agree with the others, stock or close to stock bumper looks HOT!

Err Poid's bumper doesn't quite fit right. There's a tad more 'adjustments' to make it fit right.

wow i didnt know that. i guess if anyone wanted to do the h22a conversion they could save some money by not buying the h22a gearbox? although gear ratios would be different as you said earlier.

yup, its cos of the piping...i'm a muppet and went for offset instead of centred end tanks. I think if i went centred the stock bumper would have fit on no worries. Hell if i flip the cooler upside down it'll prolly fit as well, i think the way i mounted it is the one way it wouldnt fit LOL

My cooler is no where near the size of what chubs has on his though

CHU85
07-01-2005, 11:00 AM
yeah i thought if i redone the cooler piping it might just fit. Where they meet up to the end tanks, i'll move them back in when i get the s/s piping redone.
joyride: I wouldn't recommend doin a h22a with the f22b gearbox. Way too long ratios therefore u can't really use the power that was intended for the h22a.

i reckon keep the standard kit on... it just looks more menacing that way i reckon.. just keep it clean and simple... or maybe just a very subtle kit... unless ur an attention whore.. hehehe :P

how much would something like this cost?

poid
07-02-2005, 05:12 PM
for chubs setup budget around the 15-20k mark depending on the parts you wanna use, about the right ballpark chubs?

CHU85
07-02-2005, 05:36 PM
thats about right if u are going to pay retail from shops in Aus.
But if u buy from the states and pay trade prices, about 10k

poid
07-02-2005, 06:03 PM
are you including the engine swap in that though?

CHU85
08-02-2005, 01:28 PM
ahhhhhhh no.
swap was only 1200
