i have a d16y4 which i plan to drop in my eg, the problem is it has been sitting there for close to a year in the garage, before i install is there anything important that i should be looking to replace due to it sitting there for so long?

Battery, spark plugs an new fluids, take a good look at the belts an hoses, an should just be like any other engine conversion

Change the seals as well if you can.

also inspect the timing belt for wear/cracks.

Best replace the timing belt, timing belt idler bearing pulley and water pump when out of the car as it alot easily than when back in the car

Check over all the acc belts (A/C, P/S and Alternater)
Check Rear main seal if leaking or replace if not sure as you got to remove the gearbox if it leaking
Check over other seals and gaskets (Rocker cover gasket, Dizzy O-ring, oil sump gasket and few others)
Check your clutch plate if it thin or close to rivets best replace clutch

May cost a bit but worth it you know the Engine
