Hey guys I have a 2002 DC5R with newly installed Buddyclub RSD's..
When the car is jacked up ever spring is loose on its mount and can be moved about 1.5cm up and down. The sound at first only occured in car parks doing sharp turns, but now it is happening on the streets just driving around... its a pooping/clunk sound that is coming mainly from the front, but occasionally at the rear too.

This could also be why I havent been mesmerized by the handling performance since the upgrade :(

Hope you guys can give me some assistance..

Who installed it is a knob.

The springs need to be tightened by the 2 perches jsut right so it doesnt move.

oh damn. last thing to try would be heavy mallet+screw driver. make sure you know which way to loosen. good luck bennet.

Spray it with heaps of WD -40 and let it soak over night.

And then spray some more when you try to loosen it again.

Don't try the hammer technique just yet, let a proffesinal have a clear look at it first before you do anything silly that could make the problem worse. Do things right the first time,

Good luck.

hang on, what happened to the c spanners?

pretty sure they usually have a 3/8" square so you can whack in a ratchet to help with leverage

nothing wrong with hammer and flat head.

As above, the two spring perch collars should be just snug against the bottom of the spring. As it sits you are losing 15mm of damper travel in bump for no reason at all.

The Buddy Club coilover spanners I have seen don't have the 1/2" drive hole in them. The Tein ones are much better.

^that's a weird oversight by buddyclub, i personally haven't needed to use the holes on my cusco ones but they'd be handy if i ever needed the extra leverage

try rust off we use it at work and it works heaps good..also let it soak in...make sure the end of the spring is ligned up and has no play you might be lowering your car but the spring isnt properly fitted if you get what i mean...try rust off and let me no how u go
