Hi guys. I've been looking into F20B's but cannot seem to find very much information, what i really wanted to know is if parts are interchangable with h22's or where you could even get parts? Some time during this year I might try to put an F20B into an EG, a lil more original than a b series IMO. What are your guys thoughts on it? I dont like turbo's i'm an NA guy and i just wanted a bit of a power...

F20b is an accord motor, the f20c in the s2000 motor.

I'm not sure if you can get on nzhondas.com but if you can do a search and talk to IntegRAHH - he knows ALOT about them. If you can't get on (I still think they block international traffic) let me know and I'll make sure he sees this post.

NZHondas doesn;t block INT traffic anymore. Been a membere there for 3 months.....

Anyways, they are basically an H20 engine, most things are interchangable with the H22as as you said - however, getting parts for H22as is NOT easy - compared to B series engine anyways

I think the installation of an F20b is basically the same as an H22a into a civic - the engines are supposed to be exactly the same size and box the same length - the F20b boxes come with LSDs too, but if you an;t get on, an H22a box will suffice.

Thx guys. Yeah Im really after a blue top F20B ~ 220 hp lsd. it shouldnt be too hard to source. Jun make some cams for h22's but it doesnt bother me if I have to stick with 220hp factory performance, its a much cheaper option than a b series for more hp.

Do you think that F20c cams would do anything for a F20b engine?

Cheers guys PS. ill do a search on the NZ site

F20B is only 200HP - H22 out of the Euro-R is 220HP - good luck finding one of those!

the type-S lude engine is also 220ps. Honestly for the 3k extra a halfcut costs its not worth the trouble IMO for either the F20B or the type-S version of the H22A. I'd always suggest going for a normal H22A and putting the extra money into mods for it

thanks chook : )

Jesus honda needs some new engines. No wonder we arent getting any good new sports cars from honda. THey only have the K20A and so if they have more than one model of sports (eg: 1990s civic vs teg vs lude) they make each other redundant.

hmm yes the h22a looks good but Ill have to think about it, h22a wins atm due to aftermarket parts. The 220hp f20b's come from torneo sir-t's

You need to think about the fact that honda needs to make money not use it all by making a new engine for every single model. Every company does it! Nissan with the sr20 and rb26. Its the whole package that makes a fast sports car The biggest most powerful engine around wont get you anywhere if you can't get the power to the ground.

Back to topic.

Like I said before - the SiR-T only has 200HP.

ok hmm. There is a Torneo for sale in NZ with a blue top f20b and he claims its 220 hp (depends if he means 220 with mods) http://www.autopoint.co.nz/DesktopDefault.aspx?UsedCarID=589841&TabID=5755&Alias=autopointnz

so can anyone help out here? seeing as its a 2ltr i would probably have to agree with razaman?

Yeah I'm sure that's what he means. He says 220+hp so he's just guessing IMO.

All F20b's from factory are 200hp. All sir-t's in NZ are imported from Japan.
