hey guys quick question about my eg5!

Recently i been looking in to buying a new clutch kit, what brands out there are good? all i know of is exedy should i get oem replacement? or heavy duty? what are the differences in clutch and has anybody done a clutch change on their eg and around how much will it cost me? I have a eg5 with the d16a8 engine DOHC 1.6L.. thanks guys

usually if you change clutch you'd go heavy duty, they are more responsive. exedy is a good and well known brand, another good brand is ORC but they are pretty expensive from what i've seen. if your not too fussed then go exedy, i dont think the price difference is too much between oem and heavy duty but heavy duty is worth doing. not sure how much installation will cost u but for the clutch price call up a few places and get some quotes, even try ebay i know there is a lot of exedy on there. hope it helped good luck

i bought an exedy oem replacement clutch for a D16A8, and it cost me about $200 just for the clutch. install was about $400, but someone did that as a cash job for me so i dunno it mechanics do it for that price. i chose the oem replacement as its only my daily, but it does the job with no complaints.

OE clutch parts , are exedy.

So , you can purchase a clutch kit from HONDA and from USE ebay etc - they will be the same part numbers but a differing price.

they are the SAME clutch disc.
The difference is , the pressure plate is slightly heavier clamping - in other words the "heavy duty" kit is a firmer feel/more pressure to use.

read what i said above. The PRESSURE plate is "25%" heavier clamping pressure. Same clutch disc.

Only the exedy/daikin organic has a different clutch disc material
