View Full Version : Amuse s2k at auto salon

I went to auto salon today and their was 2 white s2ks with full amuse wide body kits. I've seen them in pics a million times before and always thougt they looked a bit much....but after seeing them up close I've been converted. It makes the s2k look like a whole new car! They look incredible. Also their was a really nice white s2k with a cwest kit as well. The c west looks 10 times better up close as well.
Did anybody else go?

Nop I didn't go however I'm guessing one of the widebody amuse kits were that D1GP guy, he posted in the appearance gallery. Did the white s2k with the Cwest kit have Gram lights with Titanium lip? Plates are DVS.
Yea, I'm not really a fan of the Amuse Widebody it does look alot better in real life then in Pictures. It looks buff and all very aggressive but yea seeing one on the street is weird hehe I guess it's just too overkill

I found it majorly over kill in photos, especially the front fenders. But in person it looks so much cleaner, still very aggressive but suprisingly cool. The d1gp car was there, but their was any even better one with the plates bl88. I couldn't get a close look at the interior as it was on a rotating stand but from what I could see he had done quite a bit of work on the interior as well. I wish I could have seen under the hood.
I'm not sure on the plates on the cwest s2k but it was by beyond customs. It's got me seriously contemplating getting a c west kit but I don't know how it will look on silverstone.

hey guys, yeah i went aswell and have taken heaps of photos which i will post up once i get them off the digi cam, the 1 with the plates D1GP had the other plates which were VINNIE, his name is Chris and such a nice bloke, i was able to get interior shots off the other Amuse WB on the friday when he was still setting up and cleaning the car. I was there for both days although as i've come down with a serious cold/flu i wasent able to go on the sunday, which Jamie i would of seen u there, its amazing to think that there was only 6 S2000's were there and 5 of them were white. I felt like i was in heaven seeing some of them although i'll be honest, i have very different taste to modify a S2 cmopared to some of the other cars that were in there. I am not sure if u saw the purplse VL with the plates LTZFLI i was basically there with him for the 2 days as we're good close mates. I know i know, VLT ewww, but surprisingly there was a fair amount of attention, and i was able to push some girls on the car for some happy snaps.
As i said i'll post up the pics i have when i get a chance of all the cars i thought were good, and im sure i missed a few others as my memory card started to get full. Maybe in years to come we could get some more S2's involved and start a group just S2000's and try win some awards, would of loved to see a S2 on a dyno.

nothing special about a S2000 on the dyno :P unless they have some sorta F.I
I liked it when there was only few s2000's at carshows makes it more rare, more unique, more special..

Just hope their not those crappy Vietnamese replica kits off eBay lol. I've seen 3 of those sell now.....
I doubt d1gp would buy the replica though.. That car is all quality..

Yea I seen afew around now funny az I never through they would make a replica of that kit.
Why so much hate on replicas bro, not every can justify spending 8k on a bodykit :)

I saw that vl, but frm a distance. It was sitting outside, I think it was preparing to do a dynomat run which I didn't get to see as it was too packed. From what I could see it looked pretty nice for a vl. Their quick cars. A few of the s2ks that were there didn't really seem show worthy to me. I mean they were cars I'd drewl over on the street, with mods I'd love to do to my own car. But their was a couple that didn't seem like real show cars. It wasn't just the s2ks though, their were alot of rides there that just looked like regular street cars to me. My fav car in the show had to be the blue rx7 that thing was absalutely insane. Also the green s15 at the door with the super deep dish wheels was pretty crazy as well.
Has anybody actually seen what the fitment of the Viet amuse wide body kits is actually like? They were only like $700 for the full kit last year. I guess you couldn't expect much

Agreed, however Id like to see more s2k's in Australia with the money spent by some on bodykits etc actually spent on the engine.
on a side note, I can't believe auto salon is still on, I thought it had gone the way of the dodo due to the popo.

i pretty much posted them in order of favorite to least, but i still liked them all, only problem with the blue one imo was the colour, and i liked the otr s2 cause it was simple but looked mint. no need to justify why i loved the d1gp s2, it just looks great, i wish there where some different coloured s2000's but i was still satisfied =)

I personally wasn't a fan of the blue one. Those front fenders just don't do it for me at all. But it was one of my girlfriends fav cars at the show and she was trying to talk me into getting a set of those fenders lol. Each to their own I guess

the BL88 amuse one is the one we known from NSW, tats the first gen of the amust GT kit, we can see the exhaust are locate at diff position, but personal i dont think that car finish well, if we see in person or closer, the paint not even dry propurly(maybe rush to the show), also he did respray the carbon diffuser to shiney blak, looks bit fake to me, over all just feel like a litttle incomplete, i will more prefer chris one, nice and clean:thumbsup: but guys , the BL88 took the best s2000 award in the show, im really not sure how the judge do lol. anyway, less bullshitting, i took sum pic for my S, hope u guys like it:thumbsup:

what day did you go brendan? I was there on sunday, but that s2k with the graphics on the side wasnt there when I was there
i went saturday, the one with the decal was ok, but the others where better so i dont think you mist much, besides im sure there would of been something you saw that i didnt.
I think the main problem i had with some of the s2's there was the interior just looked.....bland i think my interior was in better nic than some of the s2's there besides d1gp

Yeh thats true, I thought the exact same thing about the interiors. Thats why, as much as I loved most of the s2000s there and was very happy to see so many, and I have to say my ride is still humbled in comparison to them... Alot of them I didnt think were exactly "show cars"
This was one of my fav rides there, it made me fall in love with the c west kit. I really struggled to get a good picture of it. I also really dont think photos did it justice at all.

and my car humbley sitting in the auto salon car park....... by the way did anybody else get scammed like me on the car park?!?!?! They had a big sign saying "auto salon car park here" so I payed my $10 to park at the race course and had to stand around for a while and wait for the free bus to take me to the venue from the car park... and then when I get to the venue I see a big, more convenient car lot right next door to it a big sign saying $5 parking.

The exhaust exit on BL88 is where the exhaust were made to go out, it requires you to custom the exhaust upwards to point out the hole making the rear diffuser more effective. There isn't a Gen 1/2 amuse widebody they are all the same, your friend D1GP just has the standard amuse exhaust that's why it exits at the bottom. Also looks like his rear guards have been molded on which is sick.

vyet, tell your mates cousin that I think his car is AWSOME! I'd love to know where he got his kit from. Im guessing it must be genuine? because it looks differant to all the replicas Ive seen. it also has those 2 extra bits in the front that cover up the side holes on the front bar which makes it look so much cleaner

Nice turn out of JDM styled cars. A few nice S2ks... funny how there's a Amuse S2000 every year though :p
Like Alvin said... not sure how BL88 won it over D1GP and the other one...
REALLY surprised nobody with cash did a J's Racing widebody or ASM kit. Was nice to see the new Amuse 370Z kit :)
Still an offset fail-town... lots of copy "style" rims too. Blarg. Different crowd I guess.

Thanks vyet, and Ive seen a couple of c west replicas that didnt come with the covers, although they were pretty cheapo ones. One was on ebay and the other was one of those dodgey fibre glass ones on carmate.com.au
Why is everybody hating on BL88? out of the 2 cars I much preferred it. I thought it looked just that little bit better and a little bit more worked. cosmetically anyway. From what I could see (I was having to peek on my tippy toes since I couldnt get right up close to it) it looked like it had more done to the interior as well. Both of them were beautiful. But D1GP just had that tiny bit more of an auto salon look to it.

Seeing BL88 was like seeing the Opera house in hot pink.
The boot and bonnet were sprayed gloss black to immitate cf.
The wheel offset was somewhat fail and the black centre with chrome dish didn't exactly stand out from the rest of the color scheme... reminded me of copy rims even though they were Volks..?
The wing looks like something made in China... and hardly complemented the style of the kit :p
The only thing interior wise that was right was the steering wheel. Look up the real
Amuse S2000 and maybe it will make more sense... Even if you wanted to be creative - it just smelled of tacky.
But that's just my opinion :)

Well i think it comes down to, personal preference. A project car finished by someone else might not be something finished to another.
The bonnet is a genuine J's bonnet and the boot never got sprayed. Was polished and is Carbon Fiber.
The rims are Volks. Personally, the steering wheel is the least JDM thing about the entire car. Its Momo.
I love the D1GP, i think the aggressive drift look is great and really fierce.
Tyre Power in Hawthorn were the main dealers for Amuse in Victoria and managed to bring it as close as an Amuse track car would be.
Smooth lines allow you to pass by the law and not get pulled over for rubbish.

I wouldn't say that a bodykit like that dosen't get pulled over lol, stands out like dogs balls. Looks sprayed from the pictures, I'm not doubting it's not genuine but it's defiantly sprayed black, which is a waste if he had carbon because his trying to make it look carbon?
I wouldn't call D1GP a aggressive drift look as well hehe :P Drift cars don't rock semi's

Yeh, i understand.
Nah its the ASM Dry Carbon trunk actually. Sadly, in order to make the car roadworthy as such. The trunk was done with a key hole and what not. The Carbon fiber was dry carbon. and was too dull i guess, hence the addition of the gloss. I would rather it the actual carbon look.
But the Varis and ASM both have a different carbon fiber look.
But drifters believe in bolting down their fenders. to me, looks great on track but on road. Trouble.
You are right bout semis....
Too much grip and too much a waste of money. ouch.

Personal preference is just stating the obvious.
The bonnet I don't know. The boot was definitely sprayed gloss black (I couldn't see any hint of CF?). Whether it was carbon fibre and then sprayed black... I don't know. Yes it's Momo and that's what Amuse use on their widebody S2k :)
Haha I'm a big fan of the Amuse products... and Tyre power/the owner forgot a few things
And smooth lines has nothing to do with cop attention...?
