Hey guys,
I have a problem with my turbo'd honda. The problem is that i have coolant gushing out from between the manifold and head...
I did a compression and leaks test and everything came up fine. I'm going to take off the manifold this weekend to have a look but before i do so just getting you guys thoughts...
What could it be? could it be a crack in the head?
Cheeers
Maybe the bypass hose to the intake manifold is busted ? Unless you've removed it and bypassed it somewhere else.
OMG.JAI xD

Is your car idling fine?
Could have a crack on one of the idle controlling mechanisms. My advice is to check it out before that coolant enters the combustion chamber and hydro locks under boost.

yea the car idle fine...but will get it checked out...is it possible for one of the exhaust manifold stud to hit a water gallery in the head? cause it only leaking from one spot on the exhuast manifold from a stud above the dip stick...

the gasket has either split, or the head was not torqued the correct way.
dont think it could be something mega series like crack. unless it was torqued wrong then it caused a crack.
take it off and have a looksy on wkeend
.btw when you say gushing do you mean gushing , or drip drip drip.
if its drip drip, get tectaloy stop leak coolant, chuck it in there , drive it around for a bit, then take off manifold, you will see exactly were its coming out from , if there is a crack. it will come up a milky colour, if its gasket it will be all around the shit part of the gasket

i dont think its the headgasket because it aint dripping from the head and the block...rather its dripping from the manifold and the head because u can see where its dripping from...but i will go buy that stop leak shit

lol for future, i know this wont help now
but when you replace the coolant get a uv traceable one, or ad a uv tracer in it.
then when it leaks you can track that shit like nobodies buisness. so quick to find problems lol
have you done any recent mods for this to happen or is car running bit hot

where can you get this from? so just need uv light and it shows up?
does it afect the system in any way?

uv tracer doesnt affect system what so ever , and yeah just hit it up with uv light and shit , and you can see it. i dont know were you can buy from, i found some on ebay.
ok so it doesnt leak till 4000 rpm, is there anything else leaking from there , perhaps oil.??
check your radiator see if the coolant is coming up brown colour, or check dipstick for light brown colour or really wierd high reading
check if car is blowing any smoke. or water puddle under the exhaust or sweet smelling exhaust fumes.
also have you try to loosen up the manifold and re tighten it. because i know when i do manifolds if i dont tighten it correctly it will leak from the edges usually but thats intake manifold lol
