It's an overseas model. Are you importing it?

if it's from japan, you'll need that FM convertor thingy if you want FM radio

Oh ok. I bought it already from ebay.. :?

Took a risk, but this guy was a good seller. I've got the goods and everything, packaging was excellent.. I went to install it this morning but its not working.. fuses are ok, rewired and secure the power but doesnt seem to work..

Is there any other major differences from pioneer and premiere that i should know?

Power volts / wiring etc..

Did it come with a manual?

Yeah all it has about voltage was that it should b hooked up to a 12 volt battery.. not much else..

was wondering if anyone has installed one themselves and found any sort of different steps required when hooking one up

is it totally not working (as in cannot be turned on at all)? Is it grounded? Are all wires from the wiring loop connected? Maybe the wires was connected wrongly?

Worst case, take it back to the seller and say it didn't work.

Yeah its totally not working as in no power and can't be turned on.

I've only connected the neccesarry ones for now which were:

- AC+ Accesories Power
- Battery Wire
- Ground
- Light

am i missing something?

Also if i hook the old radio back up (stock radio) works perfect..

have you hooked up the ACC (accessories) wire? If not, the HU wont turn on

The wiring/voltage will be the same, they are all designed to run on 12V negative earth power systems.

EDIT: i posted just as you did :P

With those hooked up it definitely should be working. Checked the fuse? It should have one...

Thanks for replying.

I checked fuses.. The one in the engine bay for Battery Backup, the one near the driver seat which is the radio fuse and the one in the head unit itself and its not blown..

hmm.. mayb i should get some audio specialists to take a look..

man im worried now.. shit
i guess i deserve it

Yeah, take it to an audio store and see if they can locate the problem.

This is why i never import audio/visual gear and strongly advise against it. You don't have much to fall back on. :(

Good luck getting it to work.

Get a multimeter out and check that the wires get 12 volts when they should. Ie constant has a constant 12 volt charge, ACC only when ignition is on etc. Tried running a fresh ground wire? Where bouts you located?

Cheers,
Javed

If it didn't work, talk to the seller. you two may be able to work something out if he/she is a good seller. Otherwise just give him/her a bad rating, I don't think there's much more you can do.... wait a sec.. I think eBay has this insurance thing that might be able to get your money back if the seller refused.

Usually if the seller has good feedback and sends out alot of items a DOA warranty on their behalf will be granted. You should be clear if the person is a decent ebayer. :D
