if the gap exceeds the limits(0.4-1mm) would it throw codes 12, 14 or 18? i.e. wss electrical noise/intermittent interuption

it can do

not so much noise but intermittent or interupted operation

interesting, tried sensors from ek4/dc2r/ek9 and all but one seem to throw a code(appears to be the ones with the largest gap, pretty obvious ones too i.e. 3-4mm)
any harm in shaving down the mounting points a bit to get the sensors closer?

from a safety perspective I would not advise it, but it would work if the wss is the same resistance as the original.

I dont see how Milling the mount could pose any danger but it could weaken the knuck if done wrong.

i'd probably mill down the mount on the sensor itself with a hand file to not damage the wiring
i'll see how i go and report my results

as for abs sensors, i've measured the resistance from all of them and they appear to carry the same resistance throughout the range

should work that way then

good luck, if you have success with it, post your results here

for the sake of interest, i hacked down the wss's seat with a hacksaw until it was within factory spec
happy to report, i have abs again

just an update, definitely fixed the problem
abs still works and the light is staying off

dash looks a bit lonely now though without the light there :p
