I think he was talking about a gearbox that was for sale on ebay. When did you last change your gearbox oil? Try using Redline MT-90. From memory most cars make some sort of sound when in neutral and the clutch is out. Might be the clutch pressure plate?

Is redline MT-90 the best one recommended to replace the OEM gearbox oil?

OEM is 75W-80 GL4.

Anything that meets that standard and is close enough to weight should be fine.

Personally I think Redline is overpriced and OEM MTF06 works well (if you change it often)

Changed the gearoil when i changed the clutch on Monday. Had the whirring noise before I got the oil changed, so I think it maybe something else.

MT-90 is expensive for a reason though.. It works well with our boxes! I changed mine recently to see if it really is that good, it is. Notchiness has reduced dramatically, from cold start to warm engine, the shifting is the same and feels somewhat "lighter" as opposed to my old oil (3,000kms) anyway. I also changed my motor oil too at the same time and have noticed that the S is very quiet compared to before, because apparently redline oils treat the box and dampens the noise too. So all silky for me.

I could get MT90 for $27/quart, our boxes need 1.6L so roughly 1 3/4 bottles will fill it nicely. Well worth the $60 odd + delivery I say - Plus you only need to change it every 30,000kms anyway.

I think they also sell by the gallon. Are these the same (from redline website)?

RL134-1 MT90® Gear Oil 75W90 GL4 1USQrt 0.946L each $41.00
RL134-4 MT90® Gear Oil 75W90 GL4 1USGal 3.784L each $149.00

Do the numbers after RL mean anything or are they a product number?

That could be the bearing applies pressure to the clutch was worn. You need to replace it. That is always happen, because not all workshop replace that while change the clutch.
