Hi guys my abs light is on and I was wondering if any one knows how to diagnose the abs systems faults. Is there a led system that flashes a certain amount to determain exactly what is wrong or is it the type that will have to be connected to hondas computer to determain the fault. If its the old skool led system can anyone give me the fault codes and tell me where i need to go to find the ecu.

cheers in advance.

Ok now i know what you are asking me to do but i have no idea where the SCS connector is, i thought it was in the engine bay like on most of my old cars but could not find one. Where is it?

you just jump the same plug as when you check the CEL's ?? ABS light on the cluster ?

question is does your abs work at all and have you bothered to even check up the error code?

ECU-MAN

Main Code 1 and Sub Code 2 = ABS pump Motor

ok so the pump motor has issues, does anyone know if this would be an expensive item to replace? ECU MAN thankyou very much for your help.

it will make a difference, it means your brakes will lock up and not do what the ABS system is designed to do which is to not allow the wheels to lock and skid.

you need to check the fuses in the ABS fuse box on the LH Shock tower.

you can unplug the ABS pump relay from within the fes box and bridge the relay pins to force the pump to run, see the photo below. if it runs then you have a fault in the relay circuit for the pump

its a tricky one, yesterday i pulled all the fuses then put them back in then i heard the pump run but still the light stayed on, now this morning i tried what u last mentioned buy trying to make the pump run and it would not run. Now going through the original owners paperwork its actualy been faulted in the past and error code 12 (ABS motor circuit) so now i am unsure if its the circuit or th pump cause i heard it run yesterday but now cant force it to run by shorting those 2 pins under the bonnet.
