Just got my s2k. Minor cosmetic problems. Please help ...

Hi all – I’m from SYD and this is my first post …

Just bought my MY00 AP1 S2000 with 72k’s on the clock last week (my mechanic inspected it and said it was still in pretty good shape. Just couldn’t tell whether the k’s are genuine)

However there are some minor cosmetic problems which I didn’t notice when I bought it (pure stupidity). Can you guys please help see if they are easy to fix and how :

(1) The whole power outlet is loose and comes off easily

(2) Weird bubble-like pattern along the bottom of the chrome plate

(3) A hole on one of the buttons - this looks pretty ugly :(

ill buy the buttons XD i dont even have mine, previous owner took the ash tray and buttons out for a shitty replacement lol

not sure what's going on with 1 and 2, but for 3, unless you enjoy using the 'spray dirty water all over the front of the car' button, get rid of those 2 buttons and put in the coin tray that comes in that spot in other countries. I think USDM cars might have the cointray? search s2ki.com.

1. Take off the interior behind the seat reach behind the button and screw it back in.

2. It's shit paint on that thing, just get some paint stripper peel it off and it becomes Chrome 2 second job.

3. Get a new button or put a sticker over it.

Lol dual stage boost controller..

1. Do what vyet said.
2. It's the chrome sticker that is bubbling, I think you can get vinyl replacements on ebay somewhere, otherwise, just peel it off and repaint to whatever colour.
3. Do what vyet said. Most likely LED for alarm, as I did this to mine recently (best visibility of the flashing).
4. I don't think those cosmetics would even matter even if you did notice them before you bought the vehicle, it is a 10ish year old car!

So the chrome surface is just a sticker ? What does it look like originally ? Any pics will be appreciated.

It's not really a sticker it's just black gloss paint that is on it, but the paint seems to be crap without a primer so it tends to bubble up and peel off. Once you go over it with paint stripper it will be like a Silver chrome.

I have the bubbling thing on mine as well. I think it could be from something hot that spilt on it. I had coffee in the cup holder and a bit splashed onto the chrome part.
