Hi all. I been thinking about turboing my s2 for a while now. And its time to get a little deeper into it. Theres alotta bolt on turbo kits out there, but other then the bolt ons, what else needs to be done.. I had people say that the f20 runs high compression and adding a turbo will do ka-boomba to the motor..
So what needs to be done to run save with the turbo? Cheers

thicker head gasket to lower the comp maybe., and a good tune will always keep the engine alive for 100,000kms+

A good Heavy Duty Clutch is always a must have, so save cash for that if you haven't already upgraded your clutch. Stock clutch wont last long with the added boost. Like above ^^ good ecu and tuner will keep the f20 running safely.

Std engine, large fram turbo & low(ish) boost...
Genius level ECU & tuning is a must. (Do not settle for retard level in either case)
If you're shopping on price, don't bother, every cheap kit for the S2K is garbage.
You should see 320hp at the wheels @ 7psi.

Thick head gasket - No.... There's nothing on the market good enough.
Clutch, swap to twin plate.
Diff, swap to R200
& stay away from idiots who think they can

someone sounds like there over the world and its bullshit.....

that said if your looking to turbo your car for less then 10k then maybe you should rethink what you wont also its always a good idea to have a power goal and then find the best way to achieve it , also dont forget about everything else you may put 10k into your car and when you sell it only get 3 back...... also don't forget about insurance and last of all if your looking for more power it might be a good idea to look at a different car which might more cost affective as that is what your going for right "bang for buck" right?

Naa, just tired of treating people like silk worms & it's easier to just say it like it is. :p

talk to robert in my "went to winton' thread his s2 is turbocharged. having said that though i would get forged internals to beef up the engine, although i have hurd the s2 already has forged internals.

compression on s2000 is 11:1 right? if its unsafe how do the turbo'd ap1's get away with it?

high comp isn't necessarily a bad thing, it just becomes one of the factors to take into account when doing the build/tune.

leaving the comp standard will give better response off boost in any case, whereas lowering it can lead to your engine feeling gutless off boost

by getting a good ecu and an even better tune. Its all in the tune.
