Hey guys, been a member for a while now, decided I should at least say hi =)
I had a pretty heavily modified WRX previously and traded up (hehe) to a stock 96 EK.
So far I've done brake pads, coilovers, swaybars, chassis bracing, bushes, lower control arms, steering wheel, seats and a few other little things. Stripped out the rear of the car last weekend and going to remove all the sound deadening soon.
The WRX was heavily modified but for street use (very fast response, fairly compliant coilovers, savage brakes) and to be honest was a little disappointing at the track because of the compromise for street use. The EK won't be having the same problem hehe =D
Anyway so far I'm enjoying the EK and doing all the mods myself (I had a workshop do everything on the WRX) and I hope to continue building and enjoying the car.
Cheers.

Yeah the WRX was pretty fast, but honestly the Honda is more fun on the street =) Yep, the EK is going to be a track car thoguh I'm planning on keeping it street registered.

Haha yeah you're right on the money there! I'm definitely no mechanical god but it's fun to pretend right? =)

Cheers guys, yeah I'll get some pics when I wash it at the weekend. I'm thinking I'll do a B18C conversion, but it'll be a while before that happens. More important things to upgrade first hehe :)

Hehe, the B18C should be fun enough in such a small car. I did research the K20 or K24 conversions, but for the money I'd rather change cars lol. Will do the B18C and then when I get bored of that prolly change to an S2000 and go silly on that. Always like them hehe.
I just got a Sparco fixed back and trying to work out rails at the moment. The ones that I was told were a bolt-in solution didn't end up working. Next on the list is wheels and tyres and then cage and harness. :D
Will post pics as I go.

NA all the way.
Had this discussion more than once, I think even on this forum. Balance is where it's at, big power needs to be matched with the same standard in suspension, bracing, brakes... A balanced car will always beat a powerful but unbalanced car. Woody is pretty good at building balanced cars, his WRX was a testament to that.
I think the EK will be beastly, just need to increase the budget a little!

agreed... i'm not a fan of forced induction... (probably because i've never been able to afford a car with forced induction lol)... but well balanced is defs the way to go...
I'm planning on getting a small car after the wedding, stripping it out and doing a couple of engine mods but nothing crazy... just a nice, well-balanced, naturally aspirated entry level track racer... something for me to get my bearings :p as soon as i go bolting turbos and the like onto it, its more money to fork out and more than can go wrong... it makes things all that little bit more fidgetty...
