Hey guys
I finally installed the pss9s and the diff conversion.
I got my mechanic to do it coz I'm abit lazy ATM and I've rooted my neck and don't wanna screw it up more. Anyways doin a diff on the s2k on the ground with short ass jack stands don't really sound very appealing to me right now either. Lol. :p
First the difftechnics conversion..
Due to budget restraints:((I wish I was one of those rich kids that have folks that spoil the crap out of em. Haha.) I thought I managed to find a pretty good deal. I got the diff brackets new and the shafts secondhand. Totaling about 2k delivered. I thought. Thats not too bad considering the inline pro kits delivery alone was 900. And to fix what's damaged it's about the same as the kit. Just parts. I Gotta remember it's not Silvia and stop bein silly. Lol. Their parts are cheap as and there's tones of them. Lol. Anyways
After the install I took the car home. On the way home there was a pretty severe vibration comming from the back.
First though. Knew it was too good to be true.
Under 70kph it's ok. Anything after that. It starts to get worse.
I called my mechanic and took it back to him to check it out. And basically all the second hand shafts are basically Worn. Can't remember what basically everything except the outer cv. Hmm. Looks like diff technics is getting a call on Monday. Not happy at all. How can u sell someone stuffed shafts and say they're perfectly fine. Bs.
Anyways. I'll call em on Monday and c what happens.
Let u guys know then.
One thing did come out of all this. When the little voice in ur head speaks. Listen. Lol.
Btw anyone know any recommended driveshaft shops? Or anyother idea on what it is or what ever. Feel free to chime in. I have a feeling difftechnics not goin to do much about it. But I'll have to wait till monday and I'll figure it out from there
Now the bilstiens. Basically. There great.
Who ever said they don't go low?? I've pretty much got no gap between the front wheels and the gaurd when we first tested it and that was with the spring wound up about 2-3 inches from minimum.
I'm still trying to find a good compromise on height. I think it's still a little low. Looks nice but Keep scraping every bump and drive way. Must be getting old. Hahah. Haven't really played with them yet. But will do so inabit.
They're definately better at taking the bumps than stock. Great for dd. Especially in my area. The roads are crap. Bumps in the road are like speed bumps. Not too sure about tracking them yet. From what everone else said, they might be abit soft for track. But I'll find out when everythings sorted out.
I'm itching for it. It's been ages since I've been to a track day.

I got some fotos but they only on my iPhone. Anyone know how to upload from the iPhone? If I can find my camera I'll go snap a few shots.
Also how do u get a qp? I'm sick of seeing that damn banner at the top. Hahaha. Plus got few bits and pieces laying around the garage from here and there.
Ps could this also be a bitchin area for crap experiences with different companies? Lol.

Hey Lewd I got the bilstiens from shox.com was pretty quick. If customs didn't take so long it would have been like 3 days till it reaches ur door

Btw. Abit of an update.
Diff conversion.. The vibrations getting better. It's nowhere near as bad as it first was. And sometimes it's almost perfect. then it comes back. Then its gone.. Weird..
But... On the upside of it all. i cant wait to get it running perfectly I recon it's a goin great upgrade. Its definately much stronger and it's got loads more grip powering out of corners.
I'm definately goin to find out about getting a fd or maybe build another diff considering the r200 is not too pricey.

The bilstiens are very very nice. I had them set to the softest at first which is 9, currently I turned it up(or should I say down) to 5. It's pretty firm. They basically exactly what i was hoping for. Atleast this worked out nicely. Cant wait for it's all to fall into place. I've been Babying this thing for what feels like forever now. Can't wait to start driving properly again. Hehe.

Hey guys an update.. Completely forgot I posted this. I'm more of a lurker than chatter so sometimes forget that I've posted stuff.. :P anyways
The diff kit was refunded a few months back and swapped for a 1000hp kit with properly made shafts which look much nicer.. (I'll add photos when I find a computer and stop being lazy and just using my iphone)
Hubs had to be swapped for this kit.(forgot to take old ones back)exhaust dropped, next the diff comes out then next came the shafts. Next day hubs came back slapped it all back in but this time with the other diff. 4.1.
This time no vibrations... Yay!! Old shabby secondhand shafts sent back and refund took some time but came though no dramas..either way difftechnics is friggin slow to the point of bashing ur head against the wall till u get dizzy or see blood.. Honest and nice but f$@*ing slow.
Time to start looking for a new LSD for the other diff with the 4.4 fd. Which is on the floor in the garage. I'll hopefully have that rebuilt soon and get it back into the car.
Surprisingly the stock skyline vlsds aren't that bad.. I definaly feel that the cars more planted than with the stock s2k diff. And with the aluminum tail shaft I don't actually think the total weights of stock items vs r200 kit are that different that u could actually notice.. If ur that sensitive to it then I'm sure removing the tools and spare will definaly negate any weight difference. And bring the center gravity down. :p
Lol At first when I was driving home. I was like man it does feel heavier. Then I hit a bump and heard everything rattle around in the boot and i was like duhh!!
Anyways.. It's been in for a little while now and I've had no more dramas with it..
I'd highly recommend a diffconversion for other peoples considering it..
Maybe they will have the kit that doesn't need to swap hubs. If I remember correctly. The standard 2.8 r200 kits were alot more reasonable. And proably would cost about the same as replacing with all original parts if not alittle cheaper than getting replacements from Honda.
