Hey Gang
We sold the charade we had as a daily runner and decided to get an EK Civic hatch. She took a real liking to it, and since it had been awhile since she drove something more sporty I decided to fix it up for her. It was a standard red CXi and this is what I've done to it.

* GLi dash swap with tacho (wreckers)
* Fixed the cracked door trims by reinforcing with Fibreglass
* Factory floor mats (wreckers)
* Tinted windows by Mr Cool Window Tinting
* Clarion headunit (Autobarn)
* Sub and amp custom install in the boot. (Ebay and myself)
* Panel beated, high-filled and sanded. (myself)
* Remote central locking (myself)
* Painted in Velocity Red, including door handles, side moulds, side skirts and front and rear lips (Theo Jannsen, lips from JDM yard)
* AU Racing 229's in Charcoal Grey. 17's
* Reset springs 1" lower.
* Painted rear badge matt black along with all the wipers.

She seems to like it, which is great. The car drives really nice too.

Nar, no plans for the engine. She thinks its quick, thats good enough for me, haha.
The spare is still under there, the whole breakdown on the install is in the stereo section. Its hinged, so you just hinge it over and the spare comes out.
My wife is spewing that we didn't take any before pics either. Its originally a red car, so the jams haven't been done.
I looked at the drums and thought about painting them black, but I decided to just leave them. They would stand out too much.

Thanks for the comments guys

From the thread tittle i thought this was going to be an old civic but its an EK but looks like a really nice job......well done. I thought the CXi was a higher version to the GLi so i would assumed they would have more options such as rev meter?

nah, cxi's were base
type r>vti-r>gli>cxi

looks great

Should upgrade to ek4 vti-r disc front and back
As the ek1 cxi has 242mm to ek4 262mm front disc and rear has disc than drums

than you know it will stop better than stock ek1 cxi :)

Haha, nar, its just an EK. Restored because the paint was faded to pink and it was hit in a few areas and repaired. The CXi seems to be the base model with things like manual windows and basic dash etc.

No problem MikeyG, PM me anytime.

Thanks jusybabe. She is very happy with it. Iam even making a custom cup holder for it now, haha.

The brakes work really well, and we don't tend to drive too fast so they stay for now. I have bigger projects to spend my money, haha.

omg...i din have a cup holder in my car and nearly cried...but my boy bought me one =) wooT! she will love it, especially if she drives to work and has coffee on the way like me!

Actually, she ain't a coffee drinker. But she still needed something to put her water bottle in. I ended up making it in the same spot as where the original one would go, but the originals tend to have 2 different size holes. I made them the same size, painted it flat black and it looks and works a treat.
Degreased the engine bay today and gave it a service. Purrs just like the owner, haha!

how are you planning to make the custom cup holder?

I just made it out of 6mm MDF and some 12mm dowl. Smoothed the edges and then gave a it a few coats of spray putty, quick sand with 400grit then flat black paint. I'll take a photo and post it up
