hi guys

im concidering doing an engine conversion on my eg8 however it has to stay auto as other ppl drive my car and cant drive manual.

im thinking of changing the engine as the stock d15b7 with either a b16 or b18 vtec engine as when i have a car load of people in my car the car struggles to go anywhere
any advice ?
thanks in advance

You could go for a b18b, from integra dc4, b20 from crv as they are auto. However not sure if it all goes together nicely without some mucking around
also the matter of registering the motor to the vehicle as displacement will increase +15%, going from 1.5l - 1.8l or 2l, requiring engineers cert.

well if ur car struggles with a load of ppl a b16a isnt going to help much because the lack of torque of it will be useless and with auto if it changes gears before vtec it will defeat the purpose, save for something a little more powerful mayb an accord or some sort of family car vtec is only good in high revs

Not worth the money, either save your money and buy a factory Vtec or learn manual, its not hard just annoying in peak hour traffic

If you have a car load of people you'll probably always struggle in a Civic man.

Unless you go H22A auto, that's 'reasonably' cheap.

Otherwise just get a 4L incline 6 cylinder Falcon mate. Better for moving people and it's the kind of car that's suited to auto.
