Ls Integra Revving To 8000 Rpm Stock

hey my mate seems to think LS integra revs to 8000rpm in america??? is that true??? could any of u guys help me out here. how coem the ones here in AUS only rev to 6 and a half 7000 rpm. can u please help me out

i seriously doubt it...im a member of www.g2ic.com and its an american site im 90% sure american LS is 6500rpm redline as well...? i could always post up a forum for them to tell me

thats easy to do it could either be chipped to remove the rev limiter
or
its a GSR, they have a b17 (not too sure what their rev limit is on them....)

ok..i posted a topic on this..and got a reply straight away..the american showed me link to stats of all the LS. LS in the states is 6500rpm unless its a GS-R (92-93) which redlines at 8000rpm. but techinically..that isn't an LS...so looks like u can show ur mate his wrong? =x

Realy who cares main thing is were does it cut out I know my limiter is set to 7200 Thats K dosnt make any power that high anyway.

LS/VTECs rev to 8500 on stock blocks without compromising hte cylinders...

dont see why a stock LS would be any different.

the head is the real worry, it has crap valve actuators compared to the VTEC heads...

it will be broken valves more than rod thru block...

I have an LS and mine revs up to about 7200 rpm to 7400, then it cuts back down to 7000, like integ_Ls said, no extra power above about 6800 though.

yesterday i parked next to a black 2nd gen integra XSi (i think it said Xsi) with NSW plates (im in vic).. i looked in the window & the redline was at 8000.
