Hi Guys,

I had new tyres put on yesterday and was told they couldn't do a rear alignment due to a damaged/dinted cross member on my 98 Honda Accord which needs to be repaired, the damage is located near the rear control arm and am unsure whether it could be replaced or repaired. I was wondering if you guys have had this done. I dont know how i did it(mechanic said it's not scratched like they usually are when colliding with concrete), and it doesnt look too major from what i can see compared to opposite side.

Also is it a good idea to hammer it back into place by a panel beater or should i replace it, it just seems like a lot of work needs to be done after looking over the service manual and all the parts needing to come out which means lots of cash.

Can take pictures if need be.
Thanks
Charles

Did you get measurements i.e. a wheel alignment, to understand if its really out of sync, or did the shop simply do an Eyeball and made an assumption?

ummmm... pretty sure he said it was out, as with the front which was fixed. But the rear couldn't be done due to the dint being right underneath the bolt for the rear control arm, it also looks like it is slighty pointing downwards compared to the other arm.
