I'm considering buying a 1998-1999 Honda Accord Vti (the 4 cylinder one, manual) as a first car for the wife, with lowish kms (<150,000kms). These can be had for around the $7 - $8k mark. The reasoning for this choice is that they are reasonably safe (2 airbags, abs) and have a few more features than a similarly priced newer smaller car (such as cruise control).
What are these Accords like for reliability?
Are parts/service costs reasonable?
Is there anything in particular I should look out for?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
