Ok, so I got defected and i need to pass EPA. I have eg stock catback and the OEM cat at home. No d-series headers. Also have a hi-flow cat with Mugen Twinloop catback for ITR.

So I dont want to weld or use anything thats on my car atm.
Not sure what it is or what brand. It was a stainless steel pretty sure 2.5' with 100cpm cat

So I want to do is pass my EPA at the lowest cost without welding/destorying the Mugen or the exhaust i have on now.
Its an EG Hatch GLi with b18c7.

What can I do.
Ideas are very welcome.

buy a set of B18C7 headers and cat and get an exhaust shop to extend/ shorten the cat piping to fit with the piping you currently have on?

how much would it all cost?

headers - 100(?)
cat - 50(?)
exhaust shop - 100(?)

all are estimates as i'm not sure how much are stock headers and cats cost, i was planning on selling mine for 150 for headers and cat but then i sold my car

any exhaust shop can do it, luckily, one of my mates work in an exhaust shop so i got mine done for free:)

here are some links that are stilling there stock headers and cat, first link shows headers and cat for a b18c2 engine but AFAIK, they do fit, best to double check on that

all u need to do is go get a any muffler that will fit in your bumper
and find the smallest pea shooter one you can
since you have a flange on the axle back, get a exhaust shop to put the restrictive exhaust on the end and the smallest pipe on the axle back that should do the trick

anyway wheres all the people that think its cool to do these mods offering you advice
or saying its cool because you got defected
funny that

Oops, totally misread that you didnt have a stock muffler, as lan just said, mounted a stock muffler to your eg and get an exhaust shop to modify the muffler to fit the flange of your current b pipe

I think doing these types of mods is cool? but got to put up with the consequences

lol as in your photo posted, use your existing stock muffler and get an exhaust shop to get it to mount to that flange (left side of your photo) thats all you need to do

Just use Existing headers, cat, and b pipe you have on your car now, and then get an exhaust shop to get them to fit a stock muffler you have in your garage :)

I dunno if that would pass. Might just go with stock catback with a bigger flange...?

It will pass as the muffler is the one that basically stops majority of the emission and sound, fitting a stock b pipe and cat will not really do too much depending on the cat, but listen to lan as considering he would know alot about this

its 100cpm cat =P

fair enough, either way, a muffler alone will work, if paramoid, witch your whole catback system to stock

dude even ek muffler will work its just longer thats all

let the exhaust chaps know why you want it on they will put it on without welding and your finished and Lan is correct listen to him
