Someone has PMS...take it easy mate. I'm not dropping it in.. I never said I was... a friend of mine is.. there are a few examples that he has done around melbourne... let the finished product do the talking. I'm just giving him another avenue.. I'm not forcing him or anything.

Just drop around for prices and see what you can come up. See if they have a warranty period after or something.

I dare say that most GOOD shops have done something bad one time or another. Ive heard of some good dyno places around Brisbane blowing up GTRs. Anyone can do the swap really, its just dependent on the person doing the install and how careful they are. Also make sure you find a decent engine and not just the cheapest you can find..

Just ask HEAPS of questions so that everything is clear, that way you can find out if the mechanic knows what he is talking about. Try to talk to the actuall person doing the install not the receptonist.

Hope that helps.

Im not fond of Hondworld... very bad experienced with them in the past.

I know a guy who bought a b16a off them.. for his EG.. turned out to be from an ef9/crx the first generation b16...

3k INSTALLED is a very cheap price... be warey of it

Look best thing buy a car with the engine you want it in.

If you are really gonna get a engine replaced i'd do it yourself!.
That's what i did before. Just make sure you have someone who knows how to finish the job once you start and also a person to wire the thing.

It took me 1 month working on my old car between 7pm to 10pm every night and weekends to get mine done. I'll have to tell you that you will get more satisfaction and find that it will be the cleanest job around. Remember you LOVE your machine to other installers, its just a job. They will cut corners whereva they can. I compared the work that i did with a BD4s job and you could see the difference. Mine looked as good as factory! while the BD4s ( i'm sure you all heard of them) forgot to hookup the radiator fan!

Just make sure you get a good engine (they should be able to start it for you) get a compression test and some manuals and go for it! Most of the tools you should need are just scokets and wrenchs. Engine hoist borrow a friend's or rent one.

If you really get stuck hire a machanic to help you finish the final touches.

They have all the parts you want but warranty is an issue. Is 2nd hand so basically what you see is what you buy. Check the engine and write down the engine code.
A guy there last time told me don't do conversion as is not worth it for 30hp lol.

Last time I was there I saw a early model teg VTEC engines for around $1000 from them but is like from a 1990 model and don't look all that pretty to me. (mileage was bloody high too)

There is a mechanic there with glasses and a coat lol, this guy seems to know everything about Honda. He can fix anything that is on a Honda.

Maybe try these guys they are experienced with Hondas and I'm pretty sure that one of their owners is an auto engineer. Not sure about sourcing an engine but here's the url>>

Well they do know alot abt hondas that much is sure, car had an air con prob, took it to a few professional places a/c places and they they all quoted me on different prices and they couldn't determine what was wrong with it (ranging from ECU to compressor probs)

Took it to hondaworld and they fixed everything overnite for $150 and no probs since

knowledge wise seems to be pretty good in that department

Hi and good day, I was reading and where would you recommend to do a conversion and also at a good price?

How about sourcing parts. I have contacted both honda spares and hondwreck, the rest I am not really sure. THanx
