More specifically, im running a B18C2 DC2 VTIR engine and have found that i have a faulty ECU.

As ive found its pretty hard to find a AUDM DC2 VTIR OBD2a ECU for sale.

My question is does anybody know or is anybody using a JDM/USDM ECU on an AUDM engine?

Ive found one for sale in the states, for the same car/engine... and its OBD2a... are there any differences or should i keep trying to find an AUDM ecu?

How does using a JDM/USDM ECU affect fuel ratios etc etc?

yes u CAN use them but the problems you will face are that JDM ECU wil llook for a knock sensor, ELD and will have a problem with the O2 Sensor heater as the wiring is different for the sensor. you CAN drive like this but I think you'll be running in Open Loop Mode the whole time untill you fix the O2 sensor codes at least. you can re-wire the O2 Sensor and if you need to , wire an in-line resistor to the ELD pin on the ECU to trick it - same with the Knock sensor I think.

differences in fuel maps and ignition timing would be minimal and almost insignificant.

the JDM ECU will generally have a slightly higher redline and rev-cut also but should still be within the 'safe' zone for a stock motor.

Ouch

I'm running an odb1 USDM P30 with Hondata S100B

Got her in to get the 02 turned on for emissions as I failed bady last week... hope we can get the 02 working now...

its just been turned off for the last year lol

yeah OPEN LOOP wont terribly effect performance but it WILL make your engine run excessibvely rich.. you will get much better fuel ecconomy and a little bit more responsiveness when your O2 sensor is wired correctly. by the way, the colours of the wires at the O2 sensor, then at the Firewall plugs, then at the ECU.. dont nesc match !!

if you're getting an ELD code (i dont think SiR-G had ELD - just JDM EG2/6/9 and DC2R ?) this wont send you into open loop or anything but it CAN give you an erratic idle at times.

hondata (tuner) can turn off the codes but you need your O2 sensor working properly for the Hondata to be able to function properly.

I've been told the usdm ecus run a map that is not suitable for us. Jdm ecus can be used as the map is much more suited for us.
