View Full Version : Whats the difference between ef8, ed9 and ef7 bumpers?

I just want to know before I paint my car.

They're not interchangeable.

EF8 has different indicator housing ('wrap-around' shape, which bends around to the side of the bumper instead of just facing frontwards) and it shaped differently around the bonnet and headlights.

EF7 and ED9 I can't remember how they're different, but they both have front-facing indicator housing.

Depends what year model EF7 and ED9? The EF8 rear bumper was no different to the 90-91 EF7/ED9 rear bumper, but it was different to the 88-89 EF7 and ED9 rear bumper.

Also the 90-91 EF7 and EF8 front bar is interchangeable.

All 90-91 JDM CRX's had the same front end.

Jdm rear bumper (EF7and EF8) are different to our Aus spec rear bar (ED9)
The JDM rear bumper has a smaller number plate hole in the rear bumper to the aus spec

So as of front bars you need wrap around indicators for the JDM look?

There is a guy on CR-X Australia though with an ef7 and his bumper doesnt have the air dams on each side where foggies can go.
Why is that?
Does he have a ed9 front bar?

The 90-91 models have the air ducts, the 87-89 don't. Looks like someone has cut foglight holes into the bumper. Or perhaps it's an intake thing. It's definitely not stock though.

Perhaps where the tinted indicator goes?

So you're saying the older ef7's did come with a bumper with noair ducts?
That's where I was getting mostly condused.

Correct.

EF7 88-89 had no ducts.
EF7 90-91 (facelift) did.
