Hey all,
I'm a newbie at all this. As a start to future upgrades/mods for my car, I would like to know where I can get real carbon fibre bonnets?
Any of you guys know any place (preferrably in Sydney) that have them at good prices?
Thinking of adding a bit of weight reduction as my first task.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! :D
Cheers

I think he means the real carbon fibre stuff not the ones with carbon fibre on top. There is abit more weight reduction on the whole carbon fibre ones, but down side is that they are not as strong and need to be held in place with the bonnet pins which seem to get cops runnning to your car to see what they are.
Dont think you would be allowed to use genuine CF hoods, plus they cost an arm and a leg to buy.

Chi,
the ones which Hondar provides looks great. Thanks.
I should have clarified before that I would want it to be less weigth than the oem, and with the 100% cf stuff I don't want to have to use pins to hold it down. Maybe that won't be the best option for me. I would want to go for something like what Hondar stocks.
Cheers.

real carbon fibre apparently is much much more expensive from what i have heard so i doubt u will want to fork out heaps for it. The bonnets with the carbon jus on top is still much lighter than the stock bonnet and looks the same. I have a carbon bonnet on my car and also got bonnet pins and the cops dont seem to mind. If anything they enhance the safety as they are keeping the bonnet firmly down imo

They use Alot of CF in F1 cars too nowadays because they are light and 'strong'.
Its the fact that Genuine full CF are illegal because they are very hard to crumple in a car accident and could fly through the wind screeen, if not, smash into many pieces and may cause severe damage.
Pins are required to hold down the hood because its very light and if not held down properly could fly back while driving and smash the wind screen.

Full Carbon bonnets are illegal.
You'll get a nice phat yellow sticker, if caught with one. Cause is your in an accident, the carbon can shatter, in to millions of shards and pearce the windscreen, or others around. And you do need the pins to hold it down.... Its so light, that there the chance that it may fling up in your windscreen.
While extreemly light, and cool looking, they are illegal and hell expensive for a legitimate full carbon bonnet.
