Hi all,

I have a vti-r with CAI, blox manifold, full exhaust, adj fuel reg.
I am considering getting a hondata ecu.
Will it make a big difference if i do?

Cheers

good ecu along with a tune with decent mods will obviously pull better gains then an untuned ecu with shitty mods,

don't bother tuning it until you've done the basic I/E/H and aren't planning on going further if you plan on doing more then the basics then obv hold out until you get all your mods done then get it tuned, for example dont get it tuned this week if you plan on getting any further mods done like IM,TB,Cams etc etc in 2 weeks saves you a decent amount of cash

Nobody can give you an exact figure but you should get the concept, you get what you pay for

as above, due to the labour costs in getting a tune, it would make more sense to get a tune as the final step. would be a good idea to get in touch with adrian at toda for hondata tuning advice.

Yeh I have spoken to him.
I am picking up a Hondata this weekend.
Which one would you recommend s200 or s300

s200 not in production anymore, only second hand.

hows it running with the aftermarket manifold without a tuned ecu? I was told it wouldn't run very well??

Yeh I it o.k but when vtec clicks there isnt a massive kick. Should there be one?

best vtec should be smooth power from 2000 to redline, no kick.

depends on price you can get it for. but s200 would usually suffice if you're looking 2ndhand

Time and money wasting. Hondata S300 is about $750AUD sourced from US installed on P28 board. Apexi PFC is about $1200AUD. Gains - 5kw on butt dyno if there is no use for it i.e. no supporting mods. Rarely people put aftermarket standalone ecu for low down minor mods such as I/H/E normally a cheap piggy back is a choice but when you start to get upgradings cam(s) and cam gear and start playing with both ignition and cam timing timing is where you get the most of it.

By bother with the S300

S100B is like $350 if you supplier the odb1 P28/P30 ECU.. how often do you swap out maps anyway
