I cant afford a type R as 15k is alot.

Is it worth doing up a Vti-R with 125 kw.

coilovers? exhaust and air intake? maybe toda cams and valve springs?

what lvl of kw at the wheels can u achieve with bolt ons firstly? and quarter mile times similar that of a type R Dc 2?

lol cant afford 15k for a Dc2R ... until recently they have sat at the 20k mark .. and even that was cheap for what you get

you will still pay 9k - 15k for a well looked after VTI-R ... maybe less for a shabby one

the VTI-R is a nice car and the engine still has potential ... but the money you will spend on it in the long run is better put into just getting a type-r in the first place

type-r will hold its value better as well

Its rare to find either in really good condition for sale aswell. Probably because those who take care of their car rarely want to sell it. Be patient and you'll find something you like. Vti-r is worth doing up though for sure

just save and get a type r save u the hassles , by the time u spend as much to buy a typ[e r, the type r will still be better and known as a "type r" when u sell it

^ as above. but if you choose a vti-r try to find a 98+ facelift model, there much better looking, i used to have one and they are really really good cars. or just keep saving your money for a decent looking type r, its worth it !

i think the prefacelift are better looking imo - they are really nice with optional ITR sideskirts and ITR style front lip
the look more aggressive than the 98+

IMO any VTEC B-series engine is worth doing up. ITR will cost you closer to $20g than $15g (if it's worth your time to begin with).

VTi-R you can probably get for below $10g in good condition and decent mileage.

A healthy one with I/H/E should hit around the 105kw and will pull nicely :)

Haha,

Buy a gsi dc2, damn should've got a vtir, bought a vtir, damn should've got a type r, bought a type r, omfg could've got a nsx-r.

And the lines play on and on. Whatever suits your budget, get it. Preformance wise, theres a lot people here that own a vtir, and make more power than a dc2r with decent modifications.

But DC2R's hold their value, and holds its name (Well it is the fastest FWD).

Good luck with searching. Take your time :D!

LOL facelift ftw , looks way too crazy! not just the front but also the REAR looks better ..

better gearbox , ratios , and LSD
Obviously better engine and faster
Better handling and more light weight
recaros, and better interrior

the list goes on and on , if u have a dc2r what else can u get ? its the best dc2 out there LOL :) win win

ive driven alot of type rs, and vti-r and man its a farking big difference...

how much you actually got saved up? whats ur actual budget?

definately just go for the R

doing up the vtir will cost you more in the long run. plus there aren't many people out there who will buy a vtir with a whole heap of mods, as most people rekon its been thrashed. but with the dc2r you got all the power there stock, so you have this lil pocket rocket without having to do anything that might affect the resale. seen vtirs on the market sit there for months (for eg, this 13.5sec dc2 vtir been for sale since the start of the year, price drop from 14k - 11k now).. and seeing type R prices drop in sydney, for average condition ones. seen about 3 or 4 this year go for 10-13k. just sit on the look out. i browse the integra market everyday, lol even though i arldy got one, just to see whats the market is like and what i should be looking at if i sell.

and also, if ur "hopefully" means uve only got like 500$ bucks right now, and realistically you will only probably end up saving a few grand and have up to a 8k budget, just go the vtir. people always have big plans, and "future" big money when they talk on ozhonda :P:P haha jks jks but yeh. if u can go type R, if u really actually can't, just go for the best in your budget

i got a 94 model for 11k - it was in mint condition and was one of the best cars i have ever owned

shame some douche hit me and it got written off - the pre-facelift dont have passenger airbags btw lol

i seriously can't tell the difference between the FL and PFL.. (can someone point it out for meplx?)

anyway, i reckon go the type R too, it'll have been better looked after, and will depreciate less - money which can be used to put into insu and/or mods.

this is a PFL (the older model, the latest it went was untill 1997? i think). The lights go in deeper than the FL also to me it looks more square in a way.

this is a FL (from 1998 - 2000 2001? i forgot) the lights come out more the side indicators are different and the middle bit isnt so square
