Accord Euro - Gearbox!! PLEASE HELP!!

Hi Guys i drive a Accord Euro 04...

The gear box is shyt itself and i need to get a new one - i was quoted 7k for a brand new one this morning and i rang this spare parts place in smithfield HONBITS and they quoted $2000 second hand supplied and fitted or $3000 reco supplied and fitted - Im a chick and i just wanna make sure they arent going to rip me off!

Was just wondering if anyone knows of anything cheaper around the sydney area? and if thats a good price for a reco geabox?

I had the same issue recently on my 03.
Larke Hoskin Honda quoted the same ~3k for reconditioning.

Mine was done under warranty so I dont know what the exact figure came too.

It sounds about right but maybe someone here with Mechanic background could chime in.

Sounds about right. Gearboxes aren't cheap especially for a newish car. Not sure about the price for the brand new gearbox but the secondhand and recon sounds about right.
