The 06 VTI is due for its 80K km service. Yep, the big one with in tank fuel filter change and valve clearance check. Has anyone had this one done ? How much did it cost you ?

Everything else, I can do myself. I take it everything else is just oil and filter anyway.

My 07 Vti-s has just gone over 40,000kms. When I bought the car brand new I intended to have it serviced at the dealership that sold me the car but when I took it in for its first service with 996 kms on the clock they backed the car into a concrete pilar which damaged the bumper and dented the tailgate. Needless to say that with their level of care they never saw my car or any of my money again. They did of course pay for the repairs but I was still extremely pissed off.

The servicing on the Jazz is mostly very basic stuff so I've been doing it myself. I've been buying genuine Honda filters and oil (from a different dealer than the one that damaged the car). The valve clearances check on the 40,000km service is the only thing so far that I have decided to get done by someone else. This is due to the fact that the car still has 18 months of warranty remaining which I do not want to void. I've just had the valve clearances done by a Honda dealership (again, not the one that damaged the car). So.....the cost of having the valve clearances done came to $197.25.

Cheers
Artie

Why not just do the whole lot yourself? Sure the fuel filter is a pain, but if you are doing literally everything else yourself, surely you have the ability to do the fuel filter also.

I did our 2005 Vti-s with cvt 2 weeks ago @79,600kms. Total cost to do the lot (according to service schedule) ended up being about $350 in parts/fluids. Mind you, the cvt fluid was something like $100 of that!
